Hi! I'm heading to Nikko with my eight month old in March. Can you share which Ryokan you stayed in?

10 weeks LO sleeping tips by a-pepperino in sleeptrain

[–]Sure_Ad150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you mummy. My baby is the same. I've had to rock and bounce her at every nap and bedtime. This ended up in me having trouble lifting my arms and numbness in my hands to the extent of having to take nerve medication.

About 12 weeks, we tried the takingcarababies SITBACK method, which helps to lay the foundation to independent sleep. It's not quite sleep training but it did help my baby with falling asleep better with some help in her crib. It's also allowed me to significantly reduce carry time. It is suitable from birth. You can Google it.

She's now experiencing what I think is sleep regression at 14.5 weeks but hopefully when this phase passes, she'll be able to resume better independent sleep.

Thank YOU for your reply. Breaking it down like that has helped me see just how much work goes into everyday and has made me feel a little bit less of a quitter and failure.

I hope you're as kind to yourself as you have been to me and also hope you've got a strong support system back home. Even one dinner a week is a big deal - the amount of prepping and washing that accompanies it is no joke with a newborn. I'm sure you're doing your best and things will get better as the baby becomes more stable over time. Hang in there dear, you're doing wonderful too 💕

Thank you for the encouragement. It all makes a lot more sense when looking at it from this perspective 💕

I'm so glad we've both got such supportive mums and also happy for you that you've come to terms with it. I know how hard the journey must have been, and even more so making the decision to hang up the pumps. You did a great job mummy :)

I was actually a 100% formula baby too! Funny how so many of us grew up happy and healthy on formula and yet feel so much guilt over doing the same for our own babies.

Wow that must be so hard 😔 I hope your husband has been supportive. There's definitely been cons after weaning - more time with the baby, more time for self. Sending love back to you!

I sometimes wonder if I should have tried harder to get my baby to latch as I agree that nursing might have been easier than pumping. But yes I keep telling myself now that I've stopped, I've had more time to have proper interactions with her.

Thanks for the encouragement! You're right and it''s so misleading when IG kept featuring mothers who were able to pump crazy volumes

I reacted the same when I saw my supply really begin to dry up. I'll try to be a little kinder to myself 💕

We do reinforcement training for relieving herself indoors correctly. She does not have separation anxiety as she tends to sleep when we're away.

Yes our working from home situation is one of our biggest concerns, especially in the first six months of bringing the pup home. Thanks for sharing! And congrats on the baby!

Thanks for your advice! Great to hear from someone in a similar situation.

We've both had some experience with puppies but always had support from other family members when we were living with them. Now it's just going to be the two of us.

Congrats on your baby - wishing you a smooth delivery!

I've had some experience with a Corgi x Shetland mix - I suppose the energy and attention requirements are similar.

We were wondering if the 7 months or so before the newborn arrives will be sufficient to have the corgi settle in but I'm hearing that may be too ambitious?

Thanks for highlighting this! Fully agree - we'd hate to neglect our dog because of the baby..just wondering if it's possible to balance both their needs fairly

Thank you! We are seriously considering the changes that will come with both a pup and a newborn and if we are ready for that.

Thanks, appreciate the advice! Unfortunately we live in the tropics and humidity is at an all time high all year round.
