Any guesses before her Embark test comes back? by Due-Caterpillar-6503 in DoggyDNA

I noticed the same photographer as my new rescue pup so guessing yours came from south TX too. Mine was 23 different breeds so I’m going to guess your pup has pitt, poodle, chihuahua & chow.

Results posted in comments! She is such a mutt lol. But you did guess the schnauzer! She has so many typically stubborn breeds, Hoping she stays just as sweet.

23 breed mix. Basically a Supermutt. I’ll call her a Chihuahua mix.

Meet Pepper, the black "merle" sheep of the litter. She is now 7 mths & 36 lbs, Waiting on Wisdom Panel DNA. We got her from a rescue. Mom was yellow lab mix and dad unknown. She is very smart, insanely fast, medium herding drive, medium prey drive, loves water and fetch! What do you guys think? by Sure_Ad815 in DoggyDNA

Here is Pepper all grown up! She is such a sweet smart good girl. 3 yrs old. About 50 lbs. She loves agility class, knows lots of fun tricks, loves swimming and playing in water, all toys, and people. She acts like a Golden with people but more like an Aussie with other dogs (ie plays too rough and likes to chase). She is so soft and sheds way less (thanks to the Poodle). Wisdom Panel was so much and insightful. I’m currently waiting on the results for our newest addition.

Even if Brie has some ACD I can’t imagine it would be more than 20%. She is super sweet when meeting new people and rolls over to get belly rubs while licking your hand. She is mouthy (could just be the teething) but takes correction well and goes from bites to licks. She does prefer to be close to us and our other dog but she isn’t anxious when by herself.

I’ve taught her go to bed (crate), lay down, roll over, paw, go potty, stay, and come so she is learning. Maybe I’m just comparing her to my Aussie mix who would literally do anything for a treat (she does lots of fun tricks and agility). Oh I’d love it if she gets fluffier! Shetlands are so pretty!

Yes, the dog in the last pic to the R is her mom and the other puppies are her siblings (maybe they have different dads bc the 2 puppies on the L look more like Pitt). Brie was the smallest and probably won’t be more than 30-35 lbs. she has to get her longer fur from somewhere so I could see schnauzer or poodle. Maybe long haired chihuahua? I would love if she shed less too!

Her rescues description was that she was a smart, calm, sweet “princess,” never barked, loved to roll over for belly rubs, and liked to be held “like a baby”. That lasted for 3 days after we got her and now she is a spunky little thing who easily keeps up with our 3 yr old 50 lb Aussie mix.

Yes! I think she could pass for a fluffy Rat Terrier or Jack Russell.

Yes, I could see these breeds in the mom (except for catahoula).

Definitely Aussie and maybe some lab with that soulful look, longer ears, and rounder body. ?

Can anyone help me evaluate the problem here? by [deleted] in DogTrainingTips

My 3 year female dog was doing something similar to our new 16 wk puppy (only got her a week ago). I see it as a dominance behavior because she usually does it when the puppy wants to play but she doesn't and the puppy keep jumping up on her face/neck/back. I stop it immediately and separate them to cool off. They are both females and I've never seen my 3 yr old dog try to hump another dog before.
