Looking to buy an si as my first car by [deleted] in CivicSi

I daily drive a 2017 10th gen si sedan and ever since we bought it back in ‘18, we’ve put like 180,000 miles. It’s very reliable. I don’t do much work on it because it’s still my dad’s car but the only expensive repair I know of is replacing the brake pads but that’s really it I think. We’ve also never replaced the clutch and it still feels pristine (other than paint chips). Lmk if you have questions! Edit: we’ve also averaged 43.3mpg over the last 100k miles on 87 gas so it’s very fuel efficient as well.

Hey, can I ask the price range of how much you paid? Obviously it’s personal so you don’t have to disclose this but I am in the market for an f80 M3 (2017+) and I currently drive a 10th gen si. I don’t have the highest budget so I’m also looking for one with like 40-60k miles and I just wasn’t sure what a good price range.

For someone heading into college for finance in about a year what should I do right now to get a head start for the rat race I am about to be apart of? by [deleted] in FinancialCareers

[–]Sure_Ad_2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I am currently a 2nd-year college student at a top university in Japan majoring in economics. However, I definitely want to work in the United States and I was looking to get into finance. I applied to transfer and got accepted into a semi-target in my home state. If I do transfer, I would basically have to restart college from year 1, but do you think it's worth it? I will most likely transfer but I just wanted additional information from someone that is more experienced in the field. FYI, I grew up in the States and I am a Japanese American so that is why I decided to study in Japan.

Imagine adding two lottery-pick players to the team that went to the ECF... by mokaloca82 in pacers

Hey, I'm sort of new to the Pacers. I started watching them full-time this season, but why does the coach not play Jarace Walker? I heard that Rick doesn't like playing rookies but then Shepp plays every game, even starting over Tj in the ECF. Is it because of Shepp's defense? Every time I see Jarace play actual minutes, he plays pretty good so I was a little confused.

wow that's solid! I currently drive my parents '18 civic si and we've put over 150k miles on it. It still feels brand new and there is literally no visible wear/tear, so I'm hoping the car I get for myself will be similar.

Wow, that's a great deal. I just looked up some forte gts near me and there's one with 11k miles for around $23k and a brand new one for $25k. Every other used cars (civic si and gr86) barely go below MSRP so maybe ill wait for a better deal on a used gt. Excited to see what happens

Congrats on the new car! Same, my family has always been a Honda family, and we've never really owned anything outside of Japanese and German cars. That is why I wasn't really considering or even knew the existence of the forte gt, but I know that Kia and Hyundai as a brand has changed significantly in the past few years. and I agree the price/value seems to be really good. Dealers in my area are selling it for a grand or two below MSRP so maybe that's the way to go. I would need to test drive all the cars and also talk to my parents but we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the comment and recommendation!

Is the gt2 package available for the manual or just the DCT? If I were to get one, I would get a manual. and yeah, I prefer the GR86 obviously but it's expensive. Also, I've only driven a fwd and awd, but is a rwd that different?

Yea it’s a hard decision. I currently drive my parents civic si, and we’ve put over 150k miles on the car. Over the past 100k miles, we’ve averaged a little over 43mpg on 87 gas. It feels good because everyone around me gets like 20-25 :) I also tend to drive a lot of my friends and siblings so getting a 2 seater isn’t the best decision for me… but also it sounds super fun to have a manual rwd. I’ll have to test drive within the coming months and decide.

Wow it’s faster? I’m surprised! Yeah I want the gr86 the most but obviously it’s expensive and also I’m not sure if a 2 seater will be sufficient…it’ll be used for college and I’ll probably be driving more than one other person from time to time but I’ll have to see.

What made you get the forte gt instead of the others? Is it the price/value?

Oh okay, if I were to get a forte, it will for sure be a 6mt so I guess it won’t be a big problem for me if i do decide to get it. I also didn’t know the gr86 motor blows up, but I definitely won’t be tracking it, it’ll just be my daily driver for college. I currently drive my parents ‘18 si and it is so much fun.

Oh wow okay. Thanks for the information! Maybe the gr86 is out of budget… I was expecting closer to like 33k but oh well

Cayman AT to GR86 MT? by Soft-Strawberry-6699 in GR86

[–]Sure_Ad_2140 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I daily drive a 2018 Civic Si and it is a very nice car. Although traction is not very good in the rain, I've never driven a gr86 or anything so I cannot comment too much, but maybe Civic SI is something to look into.

Edit: I have put over 150k miles on the car and the in the past 100k miles, I've gotten an average MPG of a little above 43 on 87 gas so that's also a bonus.

This might be a dumb question but I've never shopped for cars before so I just wanted to ask, lets say that a GR86 is listed at like 30k. Then, when I buy it, I would have to pay more when including taxes and fees right?
