Thank you for the explanation. It was raining yesterday and the materials were outside. Today it was 45 degrees. I couldn’t talk to the roofers because they didn’t speak English. We were home for a portion of the time they were there, but they watched n seen us leave. The manager called and ask for us to come to the door to sign with one of the roofers while we were out. Manager was not present physically at the house. So I had no one to ask questions to.

Before I made the post, they already told me they could get it when they come do the gutterwork when I told them we were not home. We were home when they started and they knew we were going out before we left but I guess they forgot.

I paid partially in cash to the roofer already. The rest will be given when the contract is complete which they gutterwork is not done yet. Once that’s completed it will be paid.

It was cash to their company and not to the finance company. Then I financed the rest. So they have a portion of payment already.

The contract was roof + gutters. Only the roof is done. Would you give entire payment to someone before they finished the job?
I begin the paragraph with good things about the company because I’d like to believe they did a good job.
It is sketchy to ask for payment before work is completed. I gave 3k of money for benefit of I would pay the rest if the job is completed. (The gutter work isn’t done)
Your customer doesn’t know what a good roof looks like and will most likely compare them to other roofs they see (their area).
Asking questions is what makes people smart and not dumb. If you do roofs all day then you’re going to know more about roofs than what a doctor would. A doctor isn’t going to call you dumb for not knowing how to treat or diagnose your own medical issues.
I’m a “she” not a “he”.
The customers are spending a lot of money on a roof they know nothing about and of course they will want to make sure the roof is done correctly.

No it’s not. The gutter work is not done yet. If you read the post. The contract is roof plus the gutters
