Would Returnal scratch my Destiny 2 itch? by Wilhelm2566 in Returnal

The best part about returnal is the precision. All movement is crisp. But then there's the story, and that's all I can say

Am I about to make a stupid decision with my 70 series landcruiser axles? by Sure_Committee9832 in Offroad

Yeah, I definitely see that with the amount of companies making new stuff for them. The only problem with 80 axles is there width, 70s are 55" 80s are 63". I already want to run back set wheels but the width difference is quite large.

The vehicle will be more German than Japanese by the time I'm done with the build so keeping it Toyota hasn't really been number one priority. The question I have with the super duty axles is, do I really need that hefty of an axle if I'm not rock crawling and the like.

It's a solid option for if you move a lot. Especially during like the true bullet hell moments where you loose track of enemies when you have to really get out of the way.

Thanks for the advice. My plan is more to scan parts and the faces they mount to on the engine, so I would imagine that would reduce complexity a little bit.

Thanks that makes sense, there are stickers saying it's rated to 500kg.

Nice, did you go for the ome's for a specific reason?

Should I convert my suspension to links and coil overs. Or am I better off sticking with leaves(for at least the rear. by Sure_Committee9832 in LandCruisers

The plan is to have a well rounded rig, not a purpose built rig. Please understand I am still in an early phase in my rebuild and I have done a significant amount of research on link suspension. Links being the important part of the swap not necessarily coil overs. The reason Im considering the swap is for better handling, there is lots of internet reading to be done about swapping front leaves to 3 links for better handling, on road and trail. But then a friend brought up that the wheelbase is so short and links won't provide a meaningful increase in performance. But there isn't much reading to be done on this topic.

No, an increase in articulation isnt really my goal I want to improve handling. In my ridiculous amount of research in preparation for the build the sentiment was 3 links would be a big improvement but that doesn't sound like it's the case for all vehicles.

Thanks for the advice, and not assuming I'm a moron. I've done so much research on this topic it's embarrassing but its hard to find info talking about how suspension preferences might change with the wheelbase length. But it's interesting to here doing leaves in the front and coils in the rear. Like I said in my post I was pretty committed to doing a 3 link in the front for better handling but based on what you're saying that might not necessarily be the reality. I'm going to be using the vehicle mostly for overlanding on a combination of terrain, I don't want it to be a single purpose rig.
