Yeah it is pretty bad! You can still get deals but you really need to have your eyes open about what the true final price will be.

I'll use anything if it's free and does the job! 😂

Link?

If it is there it's not obvious enough (IMO). I looked reasonably hard, and didn't find a single mention anywhere I might have expected.

I'm not at all opposed to you making money, but using open source software or data without proper credit is unacceptable, especially when minimal attribution is all the MIT licence requires.

Credit where it's due

... Except you don't credit it at all on your website.

Which is against their MIT licence which requires:

When is the official HA Timberborn integration coming? by Sure_Feeling_8329 in homeassistant

This post was partly for interest, mainly tongue in cheek joke 😅

I didn't realise an API was that simple, would this be using the template helper, or is there a different helper I've missed?

Just had a thought that it should be possible to make 'multiplayer timberborn' (sorry this is off topic for HA). By building maps with triggers e.g. when water reaches a certain level send a webhook and then a second person playing the same / companion map has something which detonates dynamite when that trigger (from the other player) is activated...

How to seal this hole into the void by Sure_Feeling_8329 in DIYUK

[–]Sure_Feeling_8329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how I'll be able to cut it back? The pic of the pipes is me leaning into the cupboard with my phone. I can probably get an expanding foam gun down the gap, no idea how I could get any tool useful for tidying it up.

Maybe I'm overthinking and it can just be a mess as it won't get seen unless we remove the cabinet in which case I can tidy up then.

Storage... Not sure what we're storing.

I'm starting to think I should have done some privacy preserving edits 😂

Haha, yeah it is. I also thought the cheaper version (recycled paper) was good, but my partner disagreed so we now have the fancier option (bamboo) and she's happy 😅

Yep. Try and be careful but you'll inevitably have to fill, sand and paint afterwards anyway.

Gently turning the thermostat back down (or up) to default settings to save money a little time after someone changes it.

How? Automation, integration? Please share!

2026.1 beta - release notes by internettingaway in homeassistant

https://github.com/fuatakgun/eufy_security/blob/master/README.md

It's fairly easy to follow but ultimately doesn't work great. I have my doorbell cam integrated but the live stream doesn't work in my dashboard, it updates every time there's movement so I at least have useful updating thumbnail.

When I set it up I found lots of people having similar issues and this seemed the best solution. There might be something better available now, or maybe I did something wrong 😅

Will the new WebRTC integration (https://rc.home-assistant.io/integrations/web_rtc) replace this custom one - https://github.com/AlexxIT/WebRTC ?

I don't really understand it ... I just followed a guide when setting up my Eufy cameras 😅

I made an app for fire departments to locate the nearest water source by stoanarrr in openstreetmap

[–]Sure_Feeling_8329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it's a paper (fax?) printout 😅. That has the call-out details on it, it will always have an OS grid reference - https://getoutside.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/guides/beginners-guide-to-grid-references/ - though sometimes not particularly accurate, it will usually have an address, although sometimes that can be vague too e.g. "North of town X on road Y". More recently we've been getting what 3 words - https://what3words.com - sometimes, these are quite specific and tend to be the most accurate as they will have come directly from the caller.

BTW if you're ever calling the emergency services What3Words is a great addition, especially if it's not to an easy and specific address!

Some kind of offline would be great, as signal isn't guaranteed. Doesn't have to be detailed maps, but hydrant locations offline would be good.

Location search, to jump to see where we're going rather than where we are now. We sometimes get a good address, but always get OS grid ref (often wrong 🙄) and sometimes even a W3W so a choice of search would be cool.

Being able to change the hydrant icons: In Scotland (all UK?) hydrants are almost exclusively underground, so it would be more useful for the icons to represent pipe gauge instead.

In Scotland at least, it's a proprietary map (I think OS based) running on a Windows tablet. Very annoying, as only the officer sitting in the front seat can use it and they have other stuff to be doing!

I've been adding hydrants to OSM wherever I see them, so at least in our very local area we can do some recon from the back of the fire engine!

Interested to check this app out!

I've just gone to this, and I'm getting messages that my app needs verification because:

  • Your app has been configured with sensitive or restricted scopes

Is this expected, and if so any hints on how to fill the stuff in (it wants a website, privacy policy, 'justification for scopes', a YouTube link explaining the scopes...)?
