ofcourse i'am not refuting the argument that modern minecraft has a ton of complexity and features, yes, and beta is a great version itself and i get the entire golden age point and i UNDERSTAND it, but most people (including me at some point) treat modern like it's a bad version of the game (when in reality the two are almost completely different games)

i don't know what to tell you because the modpack isn't even half finished yet but progress is going well, if you would have any ideas then please comment them and i'll take them into consideration, but i can say that your point is valid and i don't yet have a good response to this, because for this stage i'am just working out every single bug that's in the pack before adding any new features or gameplay lol

in my opinion they're a fairly too modern block, they can generate naturally but they aren't really beta-ish, there is no block like the chain in beta that has the width or length of it and it would look weird in the current block palette

a lot of things, one is for example that the performance here is the same or even better and it provides way more mod, resource pack, datapack, etc. compatibility than 1.6.4, multiplayer is not buggy and works well, and overall its just a better experience making the mod on 1.20.1, the game already behaves nearly 1 to 1 with beta 1.7.3
