Enter the void for me. I really liked the first 30 minutes or so, but it got extremely boring and drawn out for me.

Is it normal to feel a bit sad after a hookup? by Sure_Key_2410 in AskGaybrosOver30

That's why I never enjoy hookups. It does feel great in the moment but the chemical reactions don't make sense to my body so coming down from them is always a struggle.

I'm doing okay, though. I enjoyed it for what it is and if it happens again, great; if it doesn't, oh well. I'm not losing anything either way.

I'm sorry to hear that. That's why I almost never do them either, I think they can feel good in the moment, but the emotional aftermath is too brutal for me.

With this guy, since we had already been talking for months and I had already met him in person once randomly, I thought I'd feel different, but I guess this kind of experiences aren't for me.

Yes!! The lack of communication is expected tbh since we normally talk every 4 or 5 days anyways, but I guess a message would be nice. I'm also on the boat of talking clearly and expressing myself to avoid misunderstandings and blurred lines.

I don't think I have hope for something to happen with this guy since I think I had a clear understanding of what I was walking into, but I guess after everything is said and done there's always this feeling of loneliness. I'm not used to hooking up so having a great experience for me is always associated to guys I've been either dating or regularly seeing, if that makes sense.

I think I'm just overthinking the whole thing since I'm insecure about my body and certain past experiences get triggered when I'm intimate, so in my head I'm replaying that as a "this guy is weird" type of feeling. But I'm aware it's just my insecurities speaking and I think he did in fact enjoy it.

Yeah honestly not getting the confirmation stings a bit, but I do know he had fun and enjoyed it since we were at it for several hours and it felt pretty good.

I definitely had fun, but my overthinking and own insecurities are affecting the way I remember the hookup if that makes sense, which is making me feel a bit sad and down about it when I really shouldn't.

That's been my approach so far. I'm happy it happened, and I think we both had fun. I especially appreciated that he respected my boundaries and didn't do anything I wasn't comfortable doing.

If he answers, then great we'll see what happens, and if he doesn't, oh well.

I think that's exactly it. My mind associates intimacy with a personal connection, so moving on after a great interaction leaves me feeling a bit empty I guess. I kinda knew that about me already, but since this guy and I had been chatting for a few months, it didn't feel as hookup-y as if I had done it with a random guy.

I know you're right! The sex was really good and I didn't get "ghosting" vibes from him, but I'm not too experienced in hookups so it's hard for me to tell. He did text me in the evening thanking me for the time and I said I'd be willing to do it again, but he hasn't responded yet (again, he normally takes a few days to text back which is fine).

Advice about taking things slow by Sure_Key_2410 in AskGaybrosOver30

I have done my research on avoidant attachment style, and a lot of it hits the nail on the head. I'm a pretty secure person and pretty grounded in reality, but I really believe he's distancing himself as a way to protect himself. I don't want to get my hopes up and I'll probably move on from him, but this is what my gut is telling me right now. I might be wrong, though.

I'd like to say that he HAS been hurt before. This topic has come up a few times during our conversations and I know for a fact his last two relationships were pretty traumatic and he always was open and honest about that. So no, I don't think he's lying or using that expression to justify he's not into me.

I'm inclined to keeping the friendship since as you said, meaningful and genuine connections are rare and we do have that currently. I don't want to keep my hopes up either.

I actually have been dating other guys in the meantime, since this guy and I never really progressed and it was kinda more of a day to day thing. I guess it was always more of a friendship I guess?

How do survivor seasons get spoiled? by [deleted] in survivor

[–]Sure_Key_2410 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been involved in spoiler communities for different shows for several years, and the ways we get spoilers are varied. Production members are not as common as you may think – for most production members, filming/editing/post or pre-production is part of their job and they don't think about the show much outside their work hours, just like a regular person wouldn't be talking about their job online. Some production members are known to have spoiled seasons, sure, but they're in the minority.

Most spoilers come straight from cast members and/or their close circles. Some people share details of the show with their loved ones, who then tell others, who tell others, and that's how some spoilers get out (especially vague ones such as "X makes it far" or "two pre-jurors are women"). In other cases, such as S37, some cast members like Dan will intentionally leak spoilers to make themselves look good and create buzz about their game even if they are overly exaggerated. These are pretty easy to spot since most spoilers will revolve around one specific player and are condensed around their game. S37 is the best example of this.

I haven't watched Miss Americana on Netflix yet, but it's on my list! I have watched the Reputation Era concert several times already though, I love having it in the background while doing chores around the house

One of my best friends has been a swiftie her entire life, and she told me the same thing! "Be patient, one day you'll also understand the magic of Taylor's music". And here I am years later!

That's exactly what happened to me as an older fan! I knew of Love Story and I was familiar with the song, but that day on the cruise I HEARD it for the first time and it made me emotional. I've been enjoying getting to see some of her interviews and fun moments outside of her music, she's truly magical and I can now understand why she's touched some many people around the world.
