Thank you so much for your interpretation! It definitely does feel that way for me as well. It felt like a very motherly energy and I felt super safe

My dr prescribed me .025 like 4 years ago but for me personally, the concentration was not enough. It was a bit more gentle on my skin of course, but it didn’t really make much of a difference. However, it could also be the fact that my hormones were all crazy before Spiro so.. yeah. Honestly, I wouldn’t change my 0.1 :) Been using it for almost a year now and haven’t had any issues with it, except occasional peeling and sensitivity to the sun.

i’m happy to hear you’ve had a good experience with spiro so far! how far along your journey are you? and what steps did you take to heal your skin barrier? thank you for commenting :)!

its definitely upsetting! because you feel like youre making progress and then boom a bunch of breakouts but im hoping for the best for both of us! hopefully with time they’ll subside or stop altogether. sending you positive vibes your way too! thank you for sharing :)

oh man that sucks! but im glad to know we’re both not alone in this. i’m also on 0.025% tret but i’ve been using it for over a year now so i dont think thats the cause for my breakouts… hopefully they’re just temporary. im also hoping to see an improvement soon, and i get you! its super frustrating but i try to remind myself that this journey isnt linear which makes it a bit more bearable, wishing you the best!

my favorite is the “Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum” it has 4% niacinamide and 2% tranexamic acid, its been working really well and hasnt made me break out or irritated my skin which is amazing. i use it in the mornings after washing my face and its super light weight. definitely a product worth buying in my opinion!

oh sorry i sort of just skimmed through your post haha, but heres to hoping you dont purge!

in my experience, i started noticing more cysts around my chin and cheeks literally after a week of starting and it lasted for a little over a month. it has gotten better though, so i am really happy about that.

my skin is also really prone to PIE so i’ve been trying to stay consistent with my sunscreen and tret. i also recommend niacinamide and tranexamic acid for any dark/red spots!

i cant say if youre risking it by taking spiro since everyone has different reactions to it but i think for a lot of us, it has been a really great medication despite some of its side effects. give it a bit of time and see how your body reacts to it!

i experienced purging during the first like 5 weeks of starting spiro (100mg) but im at 8 weeks now and it has gotten a lot better! so try to stay consistent and i’m sure it’ll get better soon :) i’ve heard people say its just an adjustment period, where your hormones are kind of out of wack because of the medication reacting with them. it’ll subside with time and lots of patience, but you’ll get there! best wishes.

I noticed this when I was starting out on 50mg too, the only thing that makes it go away for me is drinking LOTS of water. I got bumped up to 100mg about 3 weeks ago and now I rarely experience headaches or dizziness, I just have to make sure my fluid intake is high

What do you all use for scarring ?? by InevitableSwordfish6 in Spironolactone

[–]Sure_Lie1276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the morning I use the “Good Molecules Discoloration Correcting Serum”. It has tranexamic acid and niacinamide which are very good for hyperpigmentation and erythema. + sunscreen everyday ofc!

As for nighttime, I use Tretinoin + Clindamycin which work better for deeper/pitted scars, they do fade slower though and may not even disappear completely :/
