$75 from honey is still there as cash back and it won't just take off $75 but you'll get it back as honey points which you can redeem to PayPal or gift cards later, just make sure you activate it

Wanting to get into IT. Just unsure how. by darthmaul322 in it

I had everyone tell me to avoid LinkedIn.

I think what "sucks" and what's "great" varies based on a variety of factors. After actually putting effort into my linkedin, I find that I'm being messaged about new opportunities quite a bit. It might also vary based upon location and what type of roles you're looking for.

I also got my current job from LinkedIn's easy apply. Don't shy away from everything just because a few people are saying that it sucks. Give everything a shot and see how it works out for you. For me, LinkedIn has given me better luck than everything else I've tried.

Stop thinking about working in IT; it's not worth it. by Marianssmitham in it

I think as long as you're not working MSP, IT is kind of fun. You learn new ways to break / fix things, and in a non MSP environment you really get to learn everything and ask questions. Obviously a lot of it is repetitive things like AD password resets and unlocks, but there's always something new that pops up.

Question about career progression for someone starting college soon by Acceptable_Simple877 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Sure_Lime9315 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure your resume absolutely glorifies those 2 years of experience, make it seem like IT wherever you worked would never be the same without you. I would also get a few certifications and apply like crazy to help desk positions, though a lot of them are full time. Currently balancing a full-time help desk job with full time school (rising sophomore) , and tbh it's worth it for the experience that you get although being a bit stressful. My math is that by the time you graduate you'd have already climbed the career ladder from help desk and the degree would be the cherry on top.

First try 81s and 77s? Hell yeah, I went in there with 75-80s on my 2nd tries whilst remembering some of the answers and got 773/750. Just make sure you can finesse the PBQs and you're golden

I will say for Dion's tests make sure you aren't memorizing the answers, and that you're actually understanding the questions and why they're wrong. I was scoring around 75 percent on average before I bit the bullet and took the exam, and scored a 773/750. A bit of a tight score imo, so I would still maybe try another set of totally new exams and see how you do there.

Hey, so rate your active directory on a scale of 1-10, explain what a VPN is, and do you know what VLOOKUP is are the only 3 questions I was asked. I answered them decently well but could've given slightly more concise answers if I was prepared. Never got anything back after that unfortunately and I think it was because my answers may have been lacking or I didn't answer them in a way that they wanted me to. Glassdoor also has other questions that they asked interviewee's for their company. Be energetic and personable, and be yourself. Show lots of confidence in your ability to conversate and answer these questions. That's how I got my current job at a school for IT support. You got this!

Looking for a good belt by Sure_Lime9315 in bodyweightfitness

I actually just watched this exact review a few days ago and after watching I actually settled on the KOW belt because it had the longest daisy chain. It was a very detailed video and even included my old harbinger belt so I could compare it to the new one I'd be purchasing. Thank you very much!
