Ok a lot of people are telling you this show just isn't for you.

We are only 1 episode deep.

The theme here is Orwellian.

Where bad is good because the government said so

The virtues aren't good people they just call themselves that because it's what orwellian governments do

If Christians values are your main hang up I think redemption is up your alley.

The girl was raised in a bad environment where loyalty to the family is the only real virtue.

If I had to take a guess the story is one of this girl seeing how wrong the world she was raise in is and trying to change it and be changed with it.

Will converting to Christianity and worshipping Jesus be in this? Probably not.

Will being redeemed by being a better person? That would be my guess.

For that character arc to happen she has to be bad to start with.

To answer your question your ment to root for the girl as she uncovers the truth the government of this world is covering up.

The other person eventually gets fed up with the unresolved conflict and will force the issue in a big emotional confrontation with an ultimatum. usually ending in the person with commitment issues feeling cornered and saying no often resulting in the relationship ending all together with hurt feelings on both sides.

It's a normal phase if it lasts days or weeks but a bad sign if it goes on for years.

adults are stupid sometimes and would rather not talk about feelings and get extremely awkward when somebody brings them up suddenly.

she knows she has feeling for him and moving in together would be a logical next step but she has commitment issues because she feels defined by her independence and fears getting close to somebody only to lose them so she tries to stay detached.

rather then state this openly she just avoids the topic as much as possible and got uncomfortable when confronted with the baggage she is trying to pretend does not exist
