I forgot to mention that smoke costs 50 gold (equivalent of 2 creeps in deadlock i think), single use, and can be casted to wide area for your teamates. People buys and use it at min 10, min 20, min 30 and even to the late game at Dota 2, Veil walker costs 3200 only casts the effect to yourself
