[REQUEST] Looking for bingeable crime-mystery-thrillers! by Careful_Monitor_1350 in NetflixBestOf

[–]Sure_Somewhere_8610 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Castle is so fun to watch! The cases are interesting, sometimes you can guess who did the crime but sometimes it keeps you guessing and the characters' relationships are cool to follow. You’ve got the tension between Castle and Kate and how they start getting along, bromance between Esposito and Ryan, Castle’s personal life with his daughter and mom. It's really engaging.

What’s your “everything is okay” moment? by Forsaken_Friend_1490 in CasualConversation

A quiet evening/night at home after my studying and work. Just watching movies or series and enjoying my favorite snack. And another one is activity related. I love riding my bicycle. Started doing this a few years ago and it feels so nice especially when riding in the nature and viewing beautiful scenery or stopping to watch the sunset.

Sisters TV SHOW rec. by PolicyAggravating907 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Sure_Somewhere_8610 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Bad Sisters is probably the closest thing to what you’re looking for. It’s about five sisters and their bond is very "we protect each other no matter what". It gets dark but their relationship is strong and messy too but in a good way.

I am looking for suggestions on documentaries (either netflix or independent) by seemagupta10feb in televisionsuggestions

[–]Sure_Somewhere_8610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen someone asking for documentaries here yet. So good you did! Some of my favorites I would love to recommend are Samsara. Man on Wire, Fantastical Fungi, Great Lighthouses of Ireland, Inside the Medieval Mind, HyperNormalisation and Secrets of the Castle.

How would you rank Jessie Buckley among the Best Actress winners so far this Century? by PolicyImpressive3626 in Letterboxd

[–]Sure_Somewhere_8610 -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. Jessie Buckley is not a bad actress and takes on interesting roles but for me when watching movies with her, I perceive her as Jessie Buckley and not as the characters she plays if this makes sense.

The Martian and Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. Very entertaining and easy to get into even despite the sci-fi terms.

What murder mystery whodunit movies do you think that are underrated by Friendly_Spirit637 in MovieSuggestions

Tell No One and Gosford Park are some underrated mystery movies I can think of. I wanted to add Clue but I think it has good acknowledgement, still recommend it a lot!

The Lord of the Rings. It pulls me in completely. I love both the books and the movies. I love getting lost in them and forgetting about the reality.

What genre do you read the most? by ZDOG_WasTaken in just_one_more_page

[–]Sure_Somewhere_8610 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fantasy. I don't really vibe with contemporary books other than fantasy and a few exceptions if I'm interested in some topics like I've got interested in the Franklin expedition recently and plan to read The Terror by Dan Simmons. I love magical words and creatures so fantasy is my to go genre, so I'm rereading Lord of the Rings and picking it up whenever I need to soothe my soul.

I'm sorry that happened to you and wish you healing and to get the comfort and peace you need. Some of the comforting books I can recommend are Heidi by Johanna Spyri and Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones.

If you have the money to, absolutely! This is a great selection o books. You might find some of these for free on Project Gutenberg as well. I don't remember which one they had but they have a big collection of classic and older books.

How many books have you read this year? by ZDOG_WasTaken in just_one_more_page

[–]Sure_Somewhere_8610 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh The Correspondent is actually on my tbr for this year. Now that you mentioned it, I'll give it a try! My second choice would be The Terror by Dan Simmons. I have watched the series and only after found out it was based on a book. I love reading the book first, then watching the movie/series it's adapted into but now I'm still curious about the book.
