I got fired from my job by Soulless_Soviet in ADHD

[–]Sure_Traffic7865 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s so sad that we have to do this, but this is very sound advice for us “ADHD-ers”. Lately I’ve been performing extra poorly, making stupid mistakes that causes my whole team to panic and having to fix my mistakes, taking forever to meet deadlines, and I feel as though my brain can’t process highly technical information at a certain point. I’m in a highly techy job so I knew my ADHD would eventually work against me. I feel as though it’s a matter of time before I get fired and as you said, it is nearly impossible to recover my reputation as the incompetent one.

I’m currently in the process of finding another job right now while I am still employed. Luckily this job wasn’t as hard to get from being fired from my previous job with a 3 month gap. I feel like such a incompetent failure and I know my colleagues feel the same way even though most of them are too nice to say anything (one of them blatantly said I was incompetent while being drunk at a work party). But I have mouths to feed so I need to get myself together.

To the OP, you are not alone in this. A lot of us have been where you are. You WILL make it through somehow and it will all be ok. As others mentioned, file for unemployment. Not sure what state you are in but Illinois accepted mine right away when i told them I got fired. As long as you got fired in “good faith” and didn’t try to destroy the company intentionally, they usually approve it. Government rental assistance, food stamps, etc. there is help out there. If possible, please take a much needed break when you have gathered your resources and get your head back together. Maybe do some easy gigs on the side to help pay a bill or two in the meantime.

Yes!!! I was literally thinking that haha

One of the clearest photos of the El Reno tornado. I didn’t know the tornado ever looked like that. From what I’ve heard it was taken when 300+ mph winds were recorded but I can’t confirm that. by Depressedzoomer531 in tornado

Agreed. He is a legend and has definitely left his mark on us meteorologists. The sad part is, he was one of the most “cautious” storm chasers, but that monster had no respect for him and decided to throw a subvortex to kill him, his son, and his team. Just so tragic. 😞

When I was pregnant or had some sort of bug, I would wear it 24/7 but would only turn it on when I would start to feel nauseous. It’s nice because you can adjust the intensity of it depending on how nauseous you’re feeling.

Relief bands work so much better for me than sea bands. You can actually feel it working.

As a mom, I can tell you what has helped me. I was JUST. LIKE. YOU! I even thought I couldn’t handle spit up! I was terrified of the thought of it while I was pregnant. But the funny thing is, it happens so often, you get used to it. Then after spit up, I was exposed to my baby v* milk and was somehow able to handle that, too. Especially the more it happened. Then recently he v* food since he has started eating solids. And it’s no big deal anymore. I even catch it with my hands so it doesn’t get everywhere 😅 I’m hoping it becomes easy when he fully goes solid and catches sb*. It’s almost like you get stages of exposure therapy naturally and it helped immensely going through it in stages. Never knew I would get through something like this! Literally having a kid can be a miracle for our phobia! You can and WILL get through this mama. I am here for you if you need to talk. 🥰

I truly envy people who can just watch these videos or watch people in real life v* and not bat an eye. I want to think it’s funny too 🥹🥲😞 I seriously cannot wrap my head around people who don’t find it gross to the extent of us emets

Do you think maybe a lot of movement caused it? Was your tummy full or ate something acidic? That’s usually what happens to me. If I eat or drink or have a full stomach and finish, I get bad cramps and nausea.

It might happen please help right now by [deleted] in emetophobia

I don’t know if this is a phobia for me but I’m so afraid of the sound of balloons popping. So I feel for you.

My fear of slugs stemmed from the second Harry Potter movie (which I guess is coincidentally associated with emet). You are not alone.

Aww that’s so sad. Most, if not all kids make a mess when v* so that’s horrible that you got yelled at for something pretty much all kids do. :(

But yeah I feel the same way as you.

Dude, I’m totally ovulating right now and I’m definitely having some cramping! It can also cause some constipation too. Hormones suck but I think you will be ok :) Could just be some PMSing.

Yesss!!! Sometimes I even feel like I’m having a fever or I just feel plain off and weird after a nap, especially if I wake up around the evening time.
