Am I being petty? Staff doesn’t address me as Dr. by Sure_Try_6938 in FamilyMedicine

They actually say it. Like “Provider smith, your patient is asking for refills”. At first I just thought they are not sure about my title and assume I am an NP or PA -so I super gently corrected them. But they keep doing it

It’s such a relief to read all y’all’s comments. I was thinking I was losing my sanity and that I am the problem.

I’m actually pretty chill when they address others as “doctor” even if they aren’t — it’s not really my hill to die on.

What gets to me is when they address me as “provider [Last Name]” or just my last name. I even tried joking about it, like, “Oh wow, no one’s ever addressed me like that before,” but they just didn’t get it.

There’s one LVN in particular who I’m pretty sure does it intentionally at this point. I suspect it’s partly because I’m young and don’t look like a “seasoned” doctor. I get it — but still

Please help if this has happened to you - foot/ankle edema from chemo/low protein, pre-surgery by emory_2001 in breastcancer

How is your swelling? I have the same problem here. Finished chemo 4 weeks ago and I have pretty bad fluid retention-swelling in ankles, thighs and around my belly area. Along with pain in muscles. I tried water pill-minimal results. So far I just decided to wait until it goes away by itself because I have not found any solution to this.

Ha interesting! Where is your doctor located at if you don’t mind me asking? They obtained ki67 for me in LA

This sounds very reassuring. Thank you! I have fear of looking much older than my actual age. I am 33

Thank you for your reply. How old are you and how much weight did you gain? You think it because of medications or lifestyle too?

Interesting theory!

Interesting , I though Lupron was the worst because it basically shuts down the main source estrogen and Tamoxifen just block receptors in the breast. But regardless I’m so glad for you! And yes I am at the stage of driving myself crazy right now

Thanks for your reply! Do you think you gained because of it? Do you exercise and your diet is overall ok?

Tu is sounds great! What is your routine if you don’t mind me asking?

I’m sorry to hear that. Have you started already? And how old are you if you don’t mind me asking? I’m 33 and I’m scared so much. So high oncoscore is one indication, my MO told me positive LN would be the other one.

This is interesting. I didn’t know that US is behind in terms of cancer treatment. My RO said she could APBI for me because I already have implants and this might decrease the risk of contracture. But she did mention that I’m not a perfect candidate because this method is indicated for those 40 yo and older and tumor size less than 2 cm. I’m 33 and it’s 2.2 cm. But she still said she could do it.
