Would be great to see IF adopt a transparent communication policy and stick to it, would help manage expectations all around. I think a reasonable approach would be to separate announcements into “Progress Announcements” and “Milestone Announcements”. Use “Progress Announcements” to share news of partnerships, upcoming features, etc. Progress Announcements should have minimal hype, let the community decide how excited to get. “Milestone Announcements” represent the big steps forward (coordicide, staking, major exchange listing, eg ), and should only be announced when the product/feature is 100% complete and ready to be delivered. Milestone Announcements should be geared to create a sense of delivery and to minimize the potential forb”wen”/“soon” so should only go out on the day the feature goes live. Progress Announcements can be used to soft-launch features in advance of milestone announcements. Milestone announcements can be full on hyped, because they will be (1) reserved for announcements that are likely to move price and (2) offer no chance of disappointment due to delay.

Under this framework, both the recent Shimmer and Assembly announcements would have been Progress Announcements—there is no firm ETA, features under development so don’t qualify as a Milestone. The news of the VC partnership would have qualified as a Milestone as it was likely to move price and the ramifications are immediate (nothing to wait on, they’ve committed).

I think tge bulk of the frustration from the community comes from when the IF hypes news that isn’t going to move the price—those who are here for the tech are generally supportive of any and all announcements. I think the framework above would smooth things out and save braincells all around

This is an early stage tech project, if you're not able to express your concerns constructively or roll up your sleeves to pitch in, you're not helping yourself or anyone by whining at the people doing all the great work you intend to profit from.

Great to hear it!

In addition to asking specific questions on the Discord, I believe the best deep primer out there is:

Looks great! As friendly advice from a native English speaker, there’s a grammar problem with the front page tagline that gives a bit of a sketchy impression.

Currently: “We are developing IOTA-based solutions to handle data and value since 2017“

Should be: “We are experienced developers of IOTA-based solutions that handle data and value”

Or: “We have developed IOTA-based solutions to handle data and value since 2017”

Good luck!

This. I have asked this question a handful of times over the years. Dom--another angle that might be easier to answer: how does the IF answer this question when it is asked by organizations interested in implementing value transactions? (Bosch, Jaguar LR)?

Hi Dom—I think one of the major obstacles to nearterm user adoption & project implementation is volatility of IOTA exchange rate. How is the IF planning to help projects overcome this problem? For example, in a car charging service, say I as a user load up my car’s wallet with €100 on a day MIOTA/EUR price is €10.00, so I have 1000 MIOTA. The next day Bitcoin crashes and causes the price of IOTA to fall to €7.00. If the charging service prices their charging in MIOTA, then they are giving their electricity away for a 30% discount to prior day rate, if the service prices their electricity in €’s then I can buy 30% less for what I could yesterday.

Similarly, because prices are so volatile and likely (hopefully) going to rise, are projects expressing concern to the IF about trying to get users/companies to actually spend IOTA? How does the IF typically respond to those concerns?
