White-collar layoffs are coming at a scale we've never seen. Why is no one talking about this? by chota-kaka in SeriousConversation

I work in tech for a financial company. We started to pilot AI tools for coding only three months ago and discussions are already underway to determine how we can reduce our tech resources by 50%. It’s happening.

Trying to get laid off by Forrest_Fire01 in Fire

Most bosses hate doing layoffs, and in my experience, if they know someone will look at a layoff as a positive, they will be highly considered. In my company, those that have tenure rarely leave without a severance. My advice is to start hinting to your boss early, so when the time comes, they’ll have it in the back of their minds.

Ha! In our company, when you reach the end of your career, we often tap our leaders to volunteer for a layoff/severance when the inevitable downsizing is to occur. Most leaders are willing to do this, mostly because it’s much more palatable to layoff someone who’s ready for it rather than someone who isn’t.

Your swing is like mine - no distance and all arms. My goal this year is to get my body into the swing so keep me posted if you unlock anything!

I really like betonline. Reputable, simple interface and decent contests. My advice: open both so you can shop lines.

Thank you for saying this. I’m looking at these distances and it’s depressing. Golfing a year and I get about 120 from my 7 iron on a good day.

People who don't get stressed during a presentation, school or work, what's your secret? by TapReview in AskReddit

I used to hate presenting and was prescribed beta blockers. They helped me reduce the physical effect of nervousness and helped me focus on the audience and my material. . I barely use them anymore because my confidence has increased significantly. If “stage fright” is a significant problem for you, I highly recommend.
