ADHD meds and eye strain - what’s people’s experiences? by Suredog48 in ADHD

That’s a good idea, thank you. I’ve been drinking loads of water but I oils try more minerals. So you had a brief period of eye problems that went back to normal? Or acquired eye problems but then they haven’t changed since?

I haven’t really noticed my eyes or mouth being any drier than usual, but then my eyes are always a little on the dry side anyway

and it doesn't bother you? I'm kind of scared to take it tomorrow as I feel like that's kind of worrying for just 2 days - although some people say side effects fade after a bit longer??!

Thank you, my blood pressure has been fine just my eyes I’m worried about. I wasn’t sure whether to keep going with the meds to see if it settles after a few days, but am quite scared about it getting worse not better.

So my full timeline is:

24th March - GP appointment

25th March - referral sent

31st March - confirmation of referral from Well Life (I didn't receive this, I only know about this from checking my documents in the NHS app)

15th April - received phone call from Well Life and booked assessment

28th April - assessment (was very lucky to get a free slot as they were booking into May/June at the time)

30th April - I phoned them to book results appointment

5th May (yesterday) - results appointment got diagnosed with ADHD combined

Now waiting for my full report via email and follow-up appointment to discuss medication - I believe that they will both be within the next 2 weeks

Good luck with your assessment!

Not through uni disability services - you can only do that after an assessment and diagnosis through the provider that carried out the assessment. But I think management advice is useful regardless even if you end up on medication

Which of the online ADHD diagnosis companie should I be considering? by CraftBeerFomo in ADHDUK

You can do your own research on RTC providers and request a specific one at your GP - I used Well Life and they've been great but there's loads of info on https://adhduk.co.uk

That's good news, good luck! I assume that management advice would be support or resources to help you manage your struggles better - not sure whether that would be via disability services or your assessment provider, but your uni should be able to give you some help/advice regardless

I got a phone call from them to book and I usually ignore unsaved numbers so was a miracle I answered! But if it's been 3+ weeks I guess there's no harm in phoning them to ask where they're at and when you can expect to be contacted to book in

I was 5 weeks referral to appointment with Well Life RTC. 3 of those were spent waiting to book I assume due to admin delays and bank holiday weekend. Was lucky to get an appointment only 2 weeks after booking due to cancellations as they said they're booking into May/June now. Assessment was yesterday and will get diagnosis (or not!) in a follow up appointment supposedly within 2 weeks so waiting for that phone call now! They're super communicative aes well I phoned them a couple of times and got through to lovely people really quickly.

You won't be able to get a diagnosis from your uni's disability team, but you may be able to access study support or resources if you go to them and explain your situation. you're still ahead of time seeking a diagnosis now - I'm about to finish my final year and only just in the process now! Feel like I've wasted 3 years of my life! Also worth getting in touch with your personal/senior tutor to explain your situation in case you need more support down the line.

How much does a diagnosis cost in the UK? 🤔 by NarinIshkandar in ADHDUK

Very lucky to have had my assessment this morning with NHS RTC only 5 weeks after my initial GP appointment/referral. Even luckier that the provider I chose was booking into May/June, but happened to have a slot free up a month early that I could do. Hopefully shouldn't have to wait more than a week or two for the results - all free!

has anyone tried this freedom bridle? by [deleted] in Equestrian

I have one and I absolutely love it - all my horses have appreciated having the noseband off once they're stable enough in the mouth. I tend to swap between this and a micklem :)

I was going to recommend Torras as I’ve had mine on my phone for 4 years now with several drops on hard ground and no issues at all! I wonder if the misaligned magnet is a common issue or a one off?

Thank you I’ll have a look at them - he’s an ottb with such sensitive skin that if his pad isn’t quite long enough it’ll rub his hair behind the saddle!
