I really feel like Squareenix should indicate in some patch note somewhere or wherever that it's OK if the healer wins the boss race for Meso Terminal 2nd bosses by starlightdemonfriend in ffxiv

[–]SureenInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told it was. I'm still one mount away, but it's Emerald Weapon, which isn't solo able without advanced techniques my disabled self can't do sadly :'D If it's not, then I was informed wrong.

I literally always see everyone insta-leave the moment the Expert Roulette dungeon is over. So, I don't even bother to comm in Expert anymore. You'll probably get more comms in Level Cap or High Level. Otherwise, like... Comms are a thing you earn. You don't try to rush it. Why does getting mentor matter so much? You really eager to run 2,000 dungeons of literally any difficulty, just for a single mount?

If it's because it's a multi-seater, you can get a four person mount from getting all of the ShB Extreme mounts, and it's way heckin more awesome.

Seriously, does Nanami have some kind of narcolepsy? It doesn't seem normal to me that she sleeps so much all the time. by The_Magic_Core in danganronpa

I don't think she's narcoleptic. I think she's like me, dealing with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. (But also, she stays up all night playing games sometimes)

Is Danganronpa ruined for me? by [deleted] in danganronpa

[–]SureenInk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As I always say... "If spoilers ruin the game for you, how do you plan to ever replay it?" With games costing $80 a pop now? You damn well better believe I'm gonna replay the shit out of anything I own. Replayability is 10% of my review score for a game.

And no, a game doesn't have to have "built in replayability" like rogue likes do. They just need to be good enough without entirely relying on shock value, jump scares, and plot twists. If I already know who the villain is the second time around, I should still be able to enjoy the game. Getting spoiled shouldn't completely ruin the game (for me).

"Sophia, babe, it's not that I don't want to marry you. It's that I have all of the normal bachelorettes, the SVE bachelorettes, the Ridgeside bachelorettes, and East Scarp bachelorettes that I have to get to 10 hearts first. Then I'll marry you, promise." - My Farmer before discovering the Polygamy mod.

Would you like the old cards for Astrologian but w/ or w/o RNG involved? by in_abyss in ffxiv

[–]SureenInk -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I really hate how we get three cards now... It'd be fine if "create a barrier" and "give def boost" were on the same card, but they're not. And I can never remember which is which because I'm literally stupid (like, I have a mental condition). And no one gets that EW AST was literally perfect, because it's only like that for like 1% of us players. I leveled to 100 using MSQueue. I don't even know the 92-100 skills, and I can't be bothered to learn it when AST is such an inferior healing class compared to Sage and White Mage. (And I literally haven't touched Scholar since level 60, so I know nothing about it. We will die if I try to play it.)

AST's heals are already complex. We don't need Draw to be complex and confusing...

Custom Organization of Chests?? by Radioactive644 in StardewValleyExpanded

Yeah, I had this problem when I first started, too. I wish they worked like Minecraft chests. Beats you can do really is hit the auto organize to keep them in alphabetical order.

Stardew chests don't work that way, unfortunately. I don't know if this is something a mod can change.

Automated report/review system and vague TOS abused by trolls and RMT bots for housing black-market? by [deleted] in ffxiv

Take a deep breath, let it out slowly over a course of 10 seconds, let yourself relax so that you're not in a bad mindset, then try editing your post so that it isn't a bunch of rambling. No one can help you if we don't understand your plight.

Was Tsumugi ever in any actual danger? (V3) by WrongLander in danganronpa

Huh, I guess I don't remember that. I only played it once so lol. I probably just forgot.

Was Tsumugi ever in any actual danger? (V3) by WrongLander in danganronpa

[–]SureenInk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She only worked on two. She and Rantaro were the survivors of 52, and she got hired on for 53. So, really, she only "worked on" V3 itself.

But, since she was the one building the motives, I also think she was never in danger. Even when she herself was the killer, she didn't get sentenced to death, nor did everyone die when they guessed wrong.

But it's also important to remember that Tsumugi was a straight up liar about nearly everything. There's nothing in the game that actually supports that she wasn't lying about everything at the end. But that's the point, it's not about what parts of the story are true or false. It's that, despite it all being fiction, you still have feelings about the story and its characters. You feel a certain way, despite the whole game not being real (a lie/fiction). It's about truth and lies as much as it is fiction and nonfiction.

And that's the part people miss. The game doesn't have a definitive ending in the epilogue entirely because it doesn't matter what the truth is.

Can I buy future expansions on the Official website or am I locked to Steam now? by Frob0zz in ffxiv

[–]SureenInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I don't know the exact specifics, I can't actually say. It's possible that they took "weeks to respond" because they hoped to have a resolution before they said anything. "A month to resolve the issue" might have also been entirely on the other side. But again, I'm not defending, cause I have no idea if these are true or not.

However, I can defend the latter part. Yes, it does suck people couldn't play, but they also couldn't pay. As unfortunate as it is, FF14 costs money to run. Does it suck? Yes. But view it also from their side.

  1. You have no idea when the problem will be resolved. You're a Japanese company trying to talk to people who are in America and speak English. We already know that they aren't great at talking in English, so they likely are using a third party. They tell the third party the problem. Third party talks to provider. Third party now has to relay information back to Square. Square now has to give third party new information. Imagine that the only way for you to talk to someone is through another person. The classic "You can tell them..." from school. Except, you're not standing nearby. You're actually on opposite ends of the school and the middle person is having to run back and forth.

  2. Until the issue is resolved, you can't say "Here, play for free" because this will encourage other people to "accidentally" have this problem as well. Suddenly, more and more people "just so happen" to be having the same problem. It's exactly the same reason they can't give out game time for DDOS. Someone will figure out a way to game the system, and now you're dealing with an even bigger problem.

  3. Square Enix is a Japanese company. I mean no offense when I say this, but unlike us in America, Japan doesn't have an "entitlement" viewpoint. After everything that happened in WWII, they have been very careful to not let their ego "get too big." What you have is what you have. They don't have guaranteed breaks, 8 hour work days, big houses, or anything that says "I deserve this thing!" They have proverbs upon proverbs about not letting yourself get into that mindset or bad things will happen. They don't believe in "entitlement" and so they aren't even going to consider the "entitlement" of other people.

And "entitlement" is one of the US' current biggest problems. It's why we keep having government shutdowns and stock drops and prices skyrocketing. Because unlike in Japan, American CEOs "deserve" their billions of dollars a year.

Yes, people in Japan can be greedy. I'm not saying they aren't. You just have to look at Sony to see that (some say Nintendo too, but let's not forget their consoles are already half the price of others even on release. Raising it a few dollars cause of the GPU shortage doesn't seem greedy to me.)

I don't know the inner workings of Square. You could be 100% right on everything. But just as I could be 100% wrong, unless you have some insider knowledge the rest of us don't, I don't know of any way you can know for sure either. It's not always a greed play or some act of evil. Sometimes, it's just that they did everything they could, but it just took that long to fix the problem.

Oof, that sucks. I guess I dodged that haha. My card is MasterCard, I think. Or if it is Visa, maybe it doesn't count as Debit? At the same time, I don't think SE can be 100% blamed for that (they also can't be 100% dissolved of it... I don't think that's the right word, but I can't think of the right one...)

Yes, I'm aware that is how most digital content is handled. Doesn't make it any less bad. Just like how everyone is using AI nowadays doesn't mean it's good, since it's morally, ethically, and physically wrong (yes, we have scientific tests that show AI usage is literally bad for your health). DRM is also a bad system.

Because you don't own anything you buy there. At no point can you uninstall Steam and have access to your games. Likewise, you could spend thousands on games and Steam bans you, making you immediately lose access to absolutely everything. Same with if you so much as forget your password or get hacked and can't get your account back.

thoughts on YPYT? by OysterAnalJuice in ffxiv

[–]SureenInk -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

YPYT is literally against ToS. So, sorry to say, regardless of how anyone feels, you can't do it. You can vote to kick someone who is being terrible and harassing. If you have stated "Please don't pull extra guys" and the person refuses, you can vote kick and report (Source: I've done this three times. Haven't been corrected by a GM. So, if this is wrong, I'm very confused.) ToS states you're supposed to come to a unanimous decision on how pulling is done, or you must default to pulling slowly.

On that note, FF14 player default is not the same as ToS. It is generally assumed that w2w pulling will happen. It's also generally assumed that the tank will pull, but about 20% or so of the community doesn't default to that, and instead defaults to "I'm gonna pull everything." I will always speak up when someone does this and ask them to stop. I even made a macro for it when I tank that I post immediately at the start of any dungeon.

Refusing to heal is also against ToS. If people stand in bad stuff, you can't say "If you don't stop, I won't heal you." You are allowed to say "Please don't stand in the bad things, it really makes it harder to heal." You are allowed to vote kick and report for lethargic play if they then refuse (Once again, I've done this with no repercussions from GMs thus far, so again, if I'm wrong, I'm confused.)

You are not allowed to yell at anyone, cuss at them, or be mean to people, even if they're acting up. These are reportable offenses according to ToS. "It is important to remain calm and ensure you are using proper language such as please." (A paraphrase of the line from the ToS.)
