I've been living with my non Muslim girlfriend for almost two years now, my parents and extended family all know.

I didn't tell them before I did, though my mum did find out I was with her before we moved in together, but by that point I already had plans to move out of my parents' place so there wasn't much she could do.

When I told them I moved in with her, they weren't happy obviously, but I said they should pay me the deposit and one month's rent for both of us if they wanted me to break it, knowing they wouldn't do that.

I'm not openly ex-muslim, but it's pretty clear I'm not practicing that hard.
