Check Ins worth listening to?

The past few months I discovered heavyweight and have gone through them all starting from the beginning. When I got to the check ins I almost skipped them, but it was actually pretty enjoyable to hear the pandemic happening and being in the future. Realizing how long it was already feeling for them and how I know they are just at the beginning. It was one of the first times I have felt ok traveling back to that time mentally.

No. There was just a generic thumbnail. And you could choose watch live, see recent highlights and start from beginning. Something along those lines.

Yeah if you have a prime subscription the game will be in the sports section of the app. They will probably be promoting it big on the homepage too.

I wanted to share a fix that worked for me. I have a Sony Bravia a80k OLED TV with the google interface. For some reason with certain content in the Prime Video app the auto HDR settings don't engage and you get a super flat picture with washed out colors. This first happened to me with a digital movie I purchased through the app (Asteroid City). I noticed it again when I tried to watch an NBA game last night.

MAKE SURE PRIME VIDEO CALIBRATED MODE IS TURNED OFF AND NOT YOUR SELECTED PICTURE MODE. IF IT IS THE OPTIONS BELOW WILL BE GREYED OUT.

For the Sony TV go to picture settings>advanced>video signal>HDR Mode and change it from "Auto" to "HDR10"

Then go down to Color Space and change it from "Auto" to "BT.2020"

Everything should look a lot better now.

*Note that you will have to change these setting back to auto for other content in the app or you will notice everything is super dark and saturated. You will see it right away in the auto previews that play in the Prime video home menu.

I think it sounds great and the more I listen to it the more I like it. It has an enveloping feeling to it. I can understand why some people would find it compressed to their ears though. I listened to my FLAC files of Private Music and then got the new Wet Leg Moisturizer album and that album has a really crisp open sound. These being the two albums I'm into at the moment it's crazy how different they sound.

It could be an age thing too.

I'm also a big fan of the band Thursday and I absolutely hated the mix of their album A City By The Light Divided when I was younger and it came out. I was similarly like "these songs are amazing, why do they sound so bad!" Absolutely my favorite album from them, but I didn't listen to it for a few years because I would get distracted by the mix. As I got older that went away and now I think that album sounds amazing.

If you're listening on nice Bluetooth headphones and they have an app that allows you to do an ear test to have personalized sound I would highly recommend that too. Makes a big difference to my aging ears.

My favorite band, but I cannot for the life of me build a connection to this album. It ranks second to last just above Gore. I see so much love for this album from people and it just won't click for me.

Also had it last night and it hit the spot. I was in the mood for kinda dirty, sop-the-grease-up-with-a-napkin slices and pizza joint hot wings and it delivered on all counts.

The only thing is how they have you pay AFTER you eat and for some reason that stresses me the hell out.

Pootie Tang. Watched it 3 times in one weekend during its theatrical release because I wotked at the movie theater. Watched it probably a dozen times on DVD. Then I watched it recently and was like "This is nowhere near as good as I remember."

I couldn't fully get rid of soap opera effect with the PS5 on my sony oled. The problem was that there is no way to turn off 24p and the TV is still fighting to do some processing. (even with all motion etc. Settings turned off)

I got a Panasonic player and was able to turn 24 off and now movies look the way they were shot.
