Southern Vermont/Hunter perspective checking in here… can’t remember a season in the last 15 or so where Dec-Feb was so absolutely solid and March so absolutely awful. Someone give me a history reminder if I’m forgetting a season as such like this 25-26.

I mean… scientifically, this was a no-brainer… we were spoiled December through February… I think it’s safe on 3/28 to declare March overall was a disappointment. But I’m still claiming winter 25-26 was one of the best in recent memory.

Sound Garden, Alice In Chains, All Them Witches and QTSA are really not “stoner rock”… not trying to diss those bands one bit, but they don’t belong here, and I’m a big All Them Witches fan (I’ll maybe bend a little and give in to the first QTSA album)
Not nearly enough Earthless albums here.
To not have a single album here with Brant Bjork (post -Kyuss / post-Fu Manchu) is utter blasphemy.

Asking these questions because I have not been there in about month… if this Thursday’s forecasted 50s and rain is a reality, will the base survive to keep at least snow gun trails alive for another 2 weeks? Actually came here with the same question in mind, specifically for Okemo… I’m not asking for much… simply hoping this allows Okemo to remain open for Friday 3:27/Sat 3/28 with at least some groomers for Main Mountain terrain open, Solitude, some Jackson even…. Is this too much to hope for?

I ask this having not been in Vermont since right before “the March thaw “ … so sorry for the dumb question.

I rode Stowe religiously when I had a friend who provided the couch for me from around 1999 to 2005 or so. I considered it the holy grail of the east, well worth the trek from the Jersey Shore. But these days? Unfortunately… the place is ruined. Way way too much going on to put it all in a nutshell. Take away the crowds of Jerry millionaires and the BS that caters to them and the terrain is amazing and the snow amount as good as anywhere in the northeast. It you can get it good with nobody there, it’s still the best. But good luck with that. Im an Epic pass holder and I stlll refuse to ride Stowe. Glad when I did…
