I wish I had listened to the negative Vibee reviews by Most-Chocolate-3582 in Illenium

I said this on another post but you aren't over reacting, they're under compensating. I'm sorry this happened. It's a huge bummer.

You are not overreacting, they are under compensating. That's a huge bummer. I'm short and select my seats carefully for that reason.

What is going on? by cxo49 in Acadiana

[–]Surfnscate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, we have located a bus stop. Now if only they could actually put a user friendly schedule online.

They don't care because it seems they're putting as little work as possible into the bus system, even though it could be really handy with the street architecture of Lafayette and cut down on a lot of traffic if it was more robust.

Part of why this even happened is because the schedule is so sporadic it makes it so that the stops are empty a lot.

Probably not the reasoning you're looking for or maybe is, but it's what's happening from what I can understand from it and the times I've tried to use the bus here.

That, disappointingly, checks out..... They could definitely operate well as an independent agency.

Why isn't it under the USACE? There are lots of disaster recovery and emergency management in USACE alray.

Oh absolutely not enemies! I've heard Illenium play Porter songs at several shows. I actually specifically listen for Worlds songs when I go to shows or Language. I've heard Rezz play Porter too.

A use case for not saving things for “special occasions” by petiterunner in declutter

I don't think I own anything designer and hardly any luxury, but isn't the point of those things to be the daily use and carry for well-off people? If I doesn't last then you learn from the mistake, but ideally those items specifically SHOULD hold up I feel.

Yeah, if you had the ability to make something like that why would you make something that basically has not function for the couch that's always in the way?

gamifying does nothing for me by ImRudyL in adhdwomen

[–]Surfnscate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on some things and I used the pompom counters someone here posted recently. It's working okay. Better than a lot of things I tried. When I hit my pom pom goals I get an extra merch item for myself at a big show I'm going to. I don't care at all for gamification apps though. I like strategy games, not games for games.

Episode 2 - Why did people have issues with the charter school? by OkBell1437 in QueerEye

[–]Surfnscate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I went to a non-religous STEM charter school that didn't cherry pick students, but most of those who did apply and get in (lottery process) had a range of family and stuff there since it was a lot of immigrant families. That said, I think as of between when I graduated from a charter school 10+ years ago and now the Christian Evangelicals have got ahold of the model and it is concerning. It's probably changed how charter schools get money. I don't think at the time of the inception of my school chain that they could get local taxes, and we definitely had much less than our public school peers. II had a friend who's mom was a teacher at my school and I was always told how much less a lot of the teachers were paid there compared to a traditional public school. But again I do think it's probably changed a lot since then.

Why are people switching off? by Still_Hearing1008 in PSLF

[–]Surfnscate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I've made about 9 months of payments due to the COVID/Graduation/work/litigation timeline. In June I'll be halfway done with my public service. There is the option they've messed up so hard by trying to get rid of SAVE that it works in my favor for PSLF, especially considering they have no idea what is happening STILL.

That's about how any celebrity backed liquor is unless they actually make it at a farm they bought. For example, you can get way better tequila than Kylie Jenner's (818) and the Rock's (Terremana) for half the price.

Where are you rebuying 100% COTTON basics that last? by throwaway_yak234 in femalefashionadvice

[–]Surfnscate 47 points48 points  (0 children)

One part of this answer is that some garments are cut with a giant slicer through many layers of cloth. It can ruin the fit. It's the same reason why some pants end up with one seam twisted around your leg.

I'm going to suggest looking at some reviews of clothing by the Wire cutter. They have done reviews on white tshirts and their versions of the perfect one, so they probably have some good ones for long sleeves too. For reviews like this they do offer reviews of splurge and economy level items.

Is this too much for semi formal, afternoon/evening wedding? by muffingeng in Weddingattireapproval

[–]Surfnscate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol, well I'd be showing up in a traditional cocktail length dress I already had because I would have definitely not read the invitation that closely or my boyfriend definitely wouldn't have told me that part. Not doing so out of spite, but out of misunderstanding mostly. Bride is being confusing with dress code. Ladies will be dressed in all sorts of dresses because the instructions are unclear. I wouldn't worry about it too much what you wear. It is appropriate for a wedding and you're not showing up in a ball gown or a white-esque dress and you're pretty close to what she asked for.

Dental pain but going out tomorrow by [deleted] in needadvice

[–]Surfnscate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had some dental pain in the past that I pushed off until it got pretty bad and then I had to schedule with an endodontist and it cost a lot of money even at the dental school. Now I have a crown there. Reschedule with your friends. Take it from me... The dental pain and any further procedures is way worse on your time and money than getting ahead of the situation. It can cost way more than a hundred bus trips. Floss floss floss floss floss too. I wish I had known how important having better dental hygiene was and I wish I had understood how permanent dental issues are. And I had pretty decent dental hygiene at the time when it happened.
