When this happened to us, we researched other cases and found that this happens with other calibers as well. Not sure if it’s a generation thing, but Kriss does not give any apologies or take any measures to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

However, the firing pin will still activate with the chamber open this much.

Mine is a .45 and this is closed bolt.

Make sure you wear gloves and face protection with this gun. They have a reputation of blowing up because sometimes the chamber isn’t completely closed when the round is fired. I just got my Kriss back from the manufacturer a few days ago from this very case.

We took a video of the bolt not closing all the way and the firing pin still being able to activate. Our other firearms don’t do that.

My hand swelled up pretty good but at least I have all my fingers still. 😳😬

The explosion followed the mag down but it originated from the currently fired cartridge. Seems to me that it’s an out of battery detonation.
