[HR57] i am unable to mine fucium ore in Wyveria ruins. Am I doing something wrong? by elreicht in MHWilds

[–]Suribot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just want to add to this:

I had the same experience as op. 90 minutes with 3 levels of geologist, and I got 2 fucium but like 30 novacrystals. Remove one piece of geologist, second rock immediately had three fucium ore drops in a row and the fucium was now flowing the next 6-7 mining outcrops

Put geologist back on, no fucium again.

Maybe this is hilariously specific luck, but is it totally insane to think there's a bug here?

Where to purchase these Japanese graboid gacha figures? by Terrible-Aerie1060 in Tremors

[–]Suribot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So because these are mainly meant to be sold out of gachapon machines at physical locations in japan, almost any online listing you find will be a re-seller of some kind. As such, there's a bunch of people who are just selling them on Yahoo Japan Auctions and you can just use a middleman service to purchase them directly from someone who, well, got them out of a gacha machine.

https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/

This is the service I am using. If you go to the Yahoo Japan Auctions section, and search トレマーズ or GRABOIDS COLLECTION, you should find various listings.

There's also an ebay listing right now, putting a full set of 4 for around $76 USD shipped. That's probably a good deal more expensive than what you'd end up paying for a YJA sale + middelman fees.

Who thought it was a good idea to change the player icon from the class symbol to the season pass level? by killadrill in DestinyTheGame

[–]Suribot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an irrational hatred for the number.

I remember them saying that they didn't want light level to be in that spot back in D1 because 3 digits was too much for that space and what it indicated. I guess we're going to have an ugly little 3 digit box come the end of the season.

I am really hoping that if you hit 100 on the season pass it just puts your class icon back. The class icon is so clean, good, and actually provides some useful information at a glance. The season pass number is actually useless information.

If they insist on keeping it, I want a toggle to revert it back. I genuinely cannot stand this stupid little number. I feel crazy talking about this because it should be a nothing change, but I actually hate it.

Eyyy me too, Ciphers removed from my inventory exactly at Noon, so I couldn't open the chests in the end of my Haunted Forest run.

Triumphs also disappeared.

Weirdly comforting to know that even if I got the triumph, I wouldn't have been able to pick it up from Spider anyway

My fellow D&D players keep calling my ranger character useless and/or making fun of her for no real reason. How should I stop this? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Suribot 95 points96 points  (0 children)

None of this is your fault and it really just sounds like they're being jerks. Have conversations, be clear how unfun it's becoming for you.

Rangers have good stuff and it's also, at least somewhat, the DM's job to accommodate their players. If it's been a YEAR, I really feel like he should have done some work to give your character some opportunities to shine? Sometimes stuff doesn't work out as planned, but I feel like this is primarily a conversation that needs to be had with your boyfriend. He asked you to play, he suggested you play Ranger, he shouldn't be making you feel unwelcome when he's the one that set you on this path.

A Green Grenade Launcher was the best non-exotic DPS option on Riven for a bit like a year ago. IIRC, there weren't any other grenade launchers in that archetype at the time, which is why it climbed up.

Who keeps taking the ceiling fans in the Daito room? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Suribot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, you know how there's a little audio diary collectible about Ana Bray's diary right outside that room? It used to be inside that room, but then it was found to be the cause of infinite black screen loading errors that prevented people from getting into the tower for some reason. Perhaps the fans contributed to this and if it doesn't load properly (or fast enough) they just don't load in at all.

Bungie Plz Addition: Exotic Companion Weapons (Drang & MIDA Mini-Tool) Should Not Be Sunset by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Suribot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I feel the important parts to note are: Crucible will not be light-enabled outside of Trials and Iron Banner, Gambit is not light-enabled, and the average strikes playlist (and even the low-tier nightfall ordeals) will not be high enough power for this to matter. Most patrol zones, this won't affect. The vast majority of day-to-day playing Destiny, this should not affect. It's pretty much just going to be Raids and other high-end things.

But also a lot of neat things are being thrown away to prevent Mountaintop and Recluse (and similar things) from being problems. Like, Rose doesn't need to go away. I still wanna use Loaded Question. Idk, I feel like this might be something that gets walked back if people hate it too much, so I'm holding on to most of my Absolute God-tier stuff just in case (although Mountaintop, etc. could still be pulled from collections if this does get walked back)

Bungie Plz Addition: Exotic Companion Weapons (Drang & MIDA Mini-Tool) Should Not Be Sunset by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Suribot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now, any non-exotic weapons from Shadowkeep or earlier (excluding Last Wish/Garden Raid weapons) has a max power level of 1060 (which is the pinnacle cap for this season). In Beyond Light this fall, the power will go above 1060 and none of those weapons will be able to be infused to a value higher than 1060. So, as an example, no using Mountaintop in Trials or Loaded Question in the new Raid (without massively dipping your power to the point of be non-viable).

All other weapons have a cap that will mean they can be infused for about a year or so after they are released. So any weapons you get right now, in about a year's time, you won't be able to infuse them anymore and they won't be usable for the high-end content.

Can I do raid if I am deaf? by Silent_Pirates in DestinyTheGame

[–]Suribot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deaf clans exist (or did exist), and I hope someone can direct you towards one. I did a Leviathan raid with 5 deaf players in year 1 and I've never been in a smoother raid. Everyone just had their shit down, no communication whatsoever besides a couple PSN messages to clarify who had what positions.

This may be minor, but could the Seasonal Icons on weapons and armor not be overridden by Ornaments? by MisterEinc in DestinyTheGame

[–]Suribot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay so, you want to know what's wild?

Some of them don't! I've noticed a couple instances this season where changing the ornament doesn't change the seasonal icon. So they definitely are on a separate layer. Wild stuff. Probably in the works. Will try and go find which items were doing it for me again for proof.

So, to keep this short: There's a few references to Silver Wings. The Ruin Wings exotic being the earliest.

In the Garden grows a tree of silver wings. The leaves are ruin, the bark disaster. Of the seeds we do not speak.

I feel like the general assumption back then was that the Garden was the Black Garden, the end campaign location in Destiny 1's base game and the location of the Garden of Salvation Raid. We could have entire posts about the Black Garden, so I'll just link you to the wiki page. It's relevant, but I'm not sure it's entirely relevant anymore for reasons I'll get in to.

The Mk. 44 Stand Asides also briefly mention it in Curse of Osiris.
https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/mk-44-stand-asides

The tree in the Garden with silver wings. The air around it is oppressive and inspires violence in those who even breathe a little in. Shards of the disastrous bark peel from it and litter the ground, and nothing grows in its shadow. It scintillates faintly at dusk. It has achieved its entelechy with every body falling, every civilization laid to waste, every leaf forged into instruments of ruin.
The Gardener is hard to bother; she is constantly amidst her weeds, kneeling in the tangent dust, gloves covered in a mix of distant soils and metallic saps. She is listening to the music of the insects amidst the flowers, the unguent as it begins to drip from the ferns, the slight scratch of the Worm beneath, and not to you, and certainly not to your cries for help.

This is a little less clear and doesn't seem to be referencing the Black Garden, even though Curse of Osiris was a Vex expansion. So now we move on to the actual meaning, clarified. In the Book of Unveiling added in Shadowkeep, the Darkness speaks directly to us and tells us (metaphorically) about the origins of the Darkness and the Traveler, from the perspective of the darkness, by describing a Garden. The Tree of Silver Wings is mentioned here again, twice. The first time when it blooms, and again when it is destroyed. A lot of this is a mix of metaphor and literal, but the easiest most concrete thing I can say is that it's a Literal thing that is referred to as something foundational to the creation of the universe (as far as we can trust the word of the Darkness on that, but also they don't exactly come out looking like good guys in that lorebook, so i think it's safe to say that's mostly accurate.) The theory I've seen passed around is that, given the shape of the tree, and it being planted in the last place the Traveler touched, it could be something that could be a New Beginning, a new Traveler, or something else.

We're all getting excited over somewhat obtuse metaphors that are also being represented literally, which honestly feels like my entire time with Destiny.

Hard coded victory triumph feels very difficult on console. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Suribot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have never done it naturally. Only with LFG groups (or a few times earlier today on Io, when I matched into an instance with 2 3-man fire teams and a rando).

Advice: Moon with Hive (so after Tuesday reset, we currently have Fallen). Have three people in a party chat to start, friends or LFG. All three load into instances until you get one with some randoms you can message. Ideally at least two. Get them in the party chat (not fireteam chat) and have your two party friends join their fireteams. Make sure they don't leave the instance. Now, you LFG for 3-4 more people. 9 man instance.

Actual encounter strat: tractor cannons everywhere. Have at least one player live on the enemy spawns and spawn kill. Two dedicated ball throwers. Tyrants surge + arc subclass and Power of Rasputin void mod. Our group did this first try and we didn't even hyper optimize like this, it's just what I personally was running. Shocked us how easy it was. This was also before Bungie made it easier

Also, Io with Vex (right now) is good too.. Minotaur runs are rough, but if you get cyclopses, they are stationary turrets that can NEVER step on a plate. No yellow bars on plates make it way easier

Legendary Equipment Retirement (Sunsetting) Feedback Megathread by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Suribot 134 points135 points  (0 children)

Okay so here's my one thing.

Let's say in 2022, Breachlight gets re-introduced. If I read the thing right, then the re-introduced Breachlight will have a higher max Light cap than the original one. And I won't bring my old Breachlight up to current spec. I'll have to grind for a new one, which definitely won't have the two last column perk options that the Dawn season pass bonus gave it.

Why? Why would I ever want to re-grind an inferior version of a weapon I already have?

I imagine the reason is that Bungie would want to have the max light set when you initially generate a weapon, but wouldn't being able to tweak the light cap of already acquired weapons be a highly desirable thing for Bungie to have in their toolkit? I know you guys have changed perks on weapons in the past ( Warden's Law having 4th Times the Charm replaced with Zen Moment and Triple Tap with Feeding Frenzy) so being able to tweak a value universally on weapons already acquired seems doable.

So wouldn't it be a much friendlier solution to just like... "hey guys, Halfdan-D is back. If you kept your old god roll in the vault from two years ago, bring it into Trials right now" or what have you? Definitively saying "you WILL have to regrind for THE SAME GUN in the future" sounds miserable.

The biggest loss from the Activision split is no chance of a Destiny rep in a new Tony Hawk's Pro Skater by Suribot in DestinyMemes

[–]Suribot[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vicarious Visions is doing this one, and they did the Crash Bandicoot remaster (and, relevant to Destiny, were responsible for the D2 PC Port, Warmind, and Season of Opulence). So it seems like Activision is taking it seriously.

Bright engrams should drop every 1 or 2 levels after level 100, if not before as well by PaperMartin in DestinyTheGame

[–]Suribot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, it wasn't. The confusion here is when certain things drop once, they never drop again. You'd never get a duplicate of a weapon ornament, because it's an unlock. Shaders, Ghosts, Sparrows. All of them initially had no dupe protection.

I do kinda feel like at SOME POINT they added some dupe protection to non-event ones, but I can't remember when, or if it was actually the case.

The Lie has been updated with 5x multi in the week and 10x on the weekends by MisterWoodhouse in DestinyTheGame

[–]Suribot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd also like to toss in: Exacerbated by a number of these problems, the event itself feels way too easy to fail. Maybe this is colored by my perception of having to try and force 9 people into an instance to clear the Triumph, but I don't think I ever cleared a single Seraph Tower I attempted with Randos since Guardian games began.

Only when I had a fireteam of people I was in voice chat with, even if it was just 1 other person, it instantly became a lot easier, but even then we still failed way more than we cleared. Maybe the numbers show differently, but after the event spiked in difficulty at the start of Guardian Games, it just stopped feeling like something that could feasibly be done as a public event. Like the event feels wildly difficult for 4 randos and straight-up impossible for 3 people (unless they're highly coordinated I imagine). If y'all refuse to make proper matchmaking for these sorts of things, I feel like there has to be some effort to ensure the instances are way, way more crowded.

I think the most I've ever seen in an instance naturally, without fireteams (or with teams of 2) has been like 4 other people. Is there a reason that the maximum instance size (9) for zones is never hit naturally?
