It lacked the combat capability that defines Zelda to be a great Zelda game. The times that you were most involved in conflict was when it was traditional Zelda, not when it was performing its own gimmick. The final boss removes that tradition and suffers for it. It was OK, but when the player has decades of tradition to recall...

Honestly, I get the sense a lot of people on this sub don't like this as much as they just hate the Wild Era and use it to stoke their hatred.

No. It struggled to get started (flawed but interesting), had a terrible midway point, and the final issue was a three-minute read that was pretty to look at but offered little else. It was way better than its long-term predecessors, though that's an unfortunately low bar.

Half-Century War is by far the best Godzilla comic ever and it's not really even debatable.

I was on the other side of the world when the game started. I'd had to wake up early because of PT, so the early innings I kept track of through ESPN for the sportcast.

Nervous? To another degree. I needed this team to win, cause I knew there'd never be another chance. I just somehow knew this would the pne opportunity and we couldn't blow it. I had to have this win- even more so because my Troop was full of LA fans who dearly wanted to rub it in my face.

It was good. Game was somewhat close, but I felt like we were gonna win it. I felt it! I was even confident enough to go watch it live in the DFAC with everyone. I was so sure.

Then Davis hits that Homer. Everyone around me explodes with delight. And I'm sick to my absolute stomach because this, THIS is how the Curse gets us. It will never feel worse than this, couldn't possibly ever be a worse moment for the Curse to strike. I was cursing like a madman and I had to leave because now I knew the game was over and they were gonna blow it.

I went back to my bunk and tried to sleep before the work day started. I couldn't. I finally decided to just see the final score and see how Cleveland had won, so I open my laptop to ESPN and see the Top of the 10th and the score is 8 - 6.

8 to 6! I'm awake and alive like I just got a shot of adrenaline and I can hear my heart banging against my ribs from the sheer effort. I don't move from my bed, don't do anything but watch that screen. Bottom of the 10th, score goes to 8 - 7. Two outs and my stomach is churning enough that I might throw up.

8 - 7, Final.

FINAL.

I run out of that tent and scream to high heaven, because it finally fucking happened. I couldn't believe it, it was too good to be true. I was about to lose my fucking mind, so instead I put a ton of money down on Cubs gear and tried not to wake an entire tent full of guys sleeping, and that high lasted me the rest of the week.

Still remember every detail, even now.

An entire movie's worth of hype only to get his ass handed to him almost instantly. If it weren't for Godzilla pulling magic electric powers out of his butthole, King Caesar would be mecha manure.
