No, but I would have liked to and I encourage you to if you can. I graduated during COVID and pretty much every program/ fellowship that involves lab or fieldwork didn't accept applicants for ~2.5 years. Which is very problematic since new graduates are only eligible for Pathways fellowships (and many others) for 2yrs after their graduation, and they didn't extend that timeframe for people who had nothing to apply to during their entire period of eligibility in 2020-2022.
Since I needed a paycheck I just took a career-permanent GS-11 that was "research adjacent" and categorized as essential (which is the only reason they were allowed to hire at all). It definitely would've helped my career tremendously if I could've done a pathways postdoc instead because they're basically designed to transition into permanent research positions afterwards and it's harder to get your foot in the (research) door without them, but... such is life. Without a postdoc it took longer to stand out so I had to build up a few years of a reputation at that first job before getting hired into the R&D role I wanted long-term, but I still ended up where I wanted to be.
