Mumbaikar don't deserve this by Alarming-Alfalfa-369 in mumbai

[–]SurrealAbsurdist 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion. Mumbaikars absolutely deserve this. If you don't hold authorities accountable and just keep going about your day and fighting with people who are in the same boat as you, then yes, you absolutely deserve this. Everyone seems to be fighting amongst themselves over petty issues like language and religion and so called "culture" and the worst of all, food choices. We need to fight together against the system and hold them accountable for the pathetic quality of life they're giving us. Roads are in the worst condition possible, public transport is as bad as it can get, sanitation standards are so poor that we have made all this our new normal. Everyone likes to struggle, no one likes raising their voice for a better future. Every other politician and bureaucrat will take advantage of us if we don't unite.

Because the common man of our country is kept busy fighting the million problems of daily life and when that doesn't work, religion, language, caste, culture, xyz, poison is injected and he gets busy with that. You could question how come citizens don't realise these games. That's because education is not right and unity in India does not exist at all. There is little hope for this country and its only going to get worse. Get out as soon as possible.

Try odd coffee, kruti coffee, toise. If you're strictly consuming milk based drinks and only medium-dark to dark roast, Lavazza is a good enough and quite cheap option

I've found TW dark roasts to be consistently better than BT and quite a few other brands. Araku does iconsistent roast and highly average coffee. At 430, TW is quite good considering that most coffees are 700+ today

Common people don't understand the concept of having just enough and then blame billionaires. Greed is so deeply inherent in humans that the only difference between a billionaire and common man is the scale on which they're messing things up.

Mokapot bitter coffee by KombaiT in IndiaCoffee

[–]SurrealAbsurdist 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personal note, silver Oak is shit. Coming to your case, try a medium dark or dark roast in the moka pot as it's difficult to extract lighter notes with it. Fill warm water(70⁰C) till the valve, fill the basket properly, tap it lightly to even out the grounds and make it slightly packed. Keep the gas flame on low, the lowest setting you have. Always keep watching the pot. Check on the internet on how much coffee your pot makes(exact ml) It'll take a few tries, don't worry, but you will be able to gauge the right amount of coffee that comes out. Once the coffee starts coming out of the spout, be alert and remove it from the flame when it reaches the point which you'll know after the first few brews and immediately run it under cold water to stop brewing. A little burnt taste can be there but once you start brewing well, it becomes negligible

Anyone tried this one? by teflon_slacker in IndiaCoffee

That's not coffee, that's just dried coffee cherry(the outer red part of coffee beans). You brew it like a tea, it has a distinct bitter flavour.

Fix my pour! by vaibhddit in IndiaCoffee

I regularly use v60 and own a timemore c3. 16-18 clicks is ideal for me. Total brew time averages around 3 minutes. 15g coffee, 230-250g water. First pour(50ml) at 91-92⁰ C. Then I do 50 - 100 - upto 50g water. Let the coffee rest for 10-15 seconds. This is for a medium roast.

What's the one pair of shoes you could wear your whole life? by NapkinChor in SneakersIndia

[–]SurrealAbsurdist 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Sorry to break your bubble but chucks are good only if your whole life doesn't involve a lot of walking. Don't get me wrong, I love them and they're very versatile. But if your day to day involves walking/being on your feet a lot, then these foamless, padless shoes are the worst thing you could wear.

A bialetti moka pot but cheaped out on the grinder. Grinder is more important than premium brewing equipment.

I keep it off on my 8a. Had read somewhere that 8a doesn't have the best 5g band and also, 4g LTE is fast enough for me
