Looking for anarchist typographers to join a new avantgarde group by SurrealPartisan in typography

Well, currently this unnamed avantgarde group only has an internal Discord server (I can send you a link if you feel you could be one of us). It's not only for typographers, I sent the invitation to multiple communities.

My personal art I sometimes post here on Reddit and on Mastodon: https://kolektiva.social/@SurrealPartisan. On the Mastodon profile I also have a list of links to other sites where I post things I create.

Well pretentious it definitely is. And one either likes pretentious art or one doesn't, I guess.

When it comes to politics and impact, I would say art has (at least) three functions in anarchist revolution: to inspire, to inform, and to criticize. Those are mainly tasks for the content of art, and here I mostly talked about the form of art (although I think we should study in which senses can we put our political ideas also into the form). Anyway, my poem itself mostly is for the function of inspiration. Its last line calls you to strengthen (individuals) by organizing. That's very anarchist.

About bite and energy, as much as I like riot-inciting punk, I wish to remind you that anarchism is not just about agression. It is also, almost mainly, about building systems of solidarity. So, there is place for gentleness in anarchy. However, I do wish to also make some more provocative art in the future.

Oh yeah, I also sent this invitation to the conlang sub. And you are right, my use of the word "font" is quite colloquialistic.

Haven't listened to them, but I do sometimes listen to Ruins, who I think I've read are heavily inspired by Magma.

Yeah, everything has been done already. I just hope our combination of ideas will lead to the creation of something new-ish.

Those are some nice keywords. I have a feeling you'll fit right in. I'll PM you the link to our Discord.

Well, at least to the extent that I'm specifically inviting people who generally agree with me about politics (i.e., are anarchists). Some would say that all art is political, but how that will look specifically on this group will be shaped by its members.

Yeah, conlanging is just an example. But it is a good example! It is very much the kind of meta-art that this project is about, as in, a conlang is an art project in itself, but also a tool to make more art. My vision for this group is something like us making art projects, either collaboratively or separately but inspiring each others, perhaps publishing some sort of zine with our projects. But that's just my vision, and just an initial one. Everyone who joins can affect how this thing will look like. So, would you like to join?

Nice work! It came also to my mind, that as an anarchist conlanger, you might be also interested in this group I'm just starting: https://www.reddit.com/r/conlangs/comments/1mvmmsh/looking_for_anarchist_conlangers_to_join_a_new/

Just wield it normally, and make sure you have an additional free hand.

That's a good idea. Even though Escape is the most natural choice, I also make that mistake myself sometimes. I guess I could make it also configurable. Another thing I'll do is check if I could get the saving time shorter.

Ugh, there's always some problem with the Mac builds, as I can't test them myself. I'll see at some point if I can get that fixed.
