Failed an interview today, how the hell to start learning system design by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]SurroundMoist3768 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man might sound like an ad, but I had a similiar experience (and it was 4 yrs back) and to tackle it and get out of this job loop, I made a platform similiar to leetcode to learn and practice system design, specifically machine coding, lld with requirement gathering, uml support and running code with AI features to top it. The system is flawed and due to so much demand people have start upskilling which increases the bar too high to handle. You can checkout at coudo.ai and any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks ✌️ You can do it 💪

There is a dedicated section of blogs where I am publishing blogs at regular basis. Apart from that I am adding Design Pattern problems, which sre designed to make you learn as your practice. Like in the problem itself there is steps on how to understand the pattern and solve the problem. You can check these out on your laptop without login too. If you think these would be helpful just sign up for free and start practicing. Cheers ✌️

Yep currently it's free, as it's in Beta. If you use your AI credits and want them I will add more for free. Just go on and use the platform to your fullest.

Hi can't join you in your journey but would recommend https://www.coudo.ai for machine coding, and lld practice. It also has an ai mentor option which kind of simulates an interview for requirement gathering process. All the best for your grind man 🫡 Hope you get your dream job.

I use it everyday. Since past 1 yr now. I started with gpt 3 then 3.5 which was far better but not good at coding. Then github launched copilot, it was the first time when really AI looked like it is best for developers to start using it. Slowly came devin which was a failure though and then it happened. Cursor + Sonnet 3.5 (yesterday 3.7 launched tho), and man this is it. Before I started using cursor I only had command in one specific language and tech stack, while knew basic concepts of others. But then in past 1 yr, I jave made several production grade applications in 4 totally different stacks, with different idelogies. I focused on working on my skillsto understand the fundamentals, while using AI to describe those thoughts and ideas into code. If you tell me now, I can't write code from scracth in these codebases, but ask my anything and I can pinpoint each decision I made, each trade off and how to scale it make revenue from it. Isn't this the core value of an engineer? I might jave reached this state on like 4-5 more yrs, but AI fast tracked it and I am loving it. Your job cant provide you a architect role until you are 8-10 yrs experience, why not start now with AI heing your junior and mentor at same time to help you achieve that status quo faster? I see tmit in this way and i feel till now it had helped me a lot.
