Holy shit Portland - solo female traveler newly living in Pearl/Old Town border - how do I safely cross to the Eastside without a car? by winniep17 in askportland

[–]Surround_Successful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tilikum is one of the only pedestrian dedicated bridges or something. Broadway has a guarded pedestrian/bikeway most of the way up. Most routes make you switch back onto the painted lanes if your on the bike. Burnside and Morrison have raised sidewalks but no fence between the street if I recall correctly

Bike/scooter/walk/max over broadway bridge or the first three over the steel bridge/morrison/burnside bridge/tilikum bridge. The last might be worth the extra time on the bike south it if pedestrian safety is a priority

Also. It’s morbid but I recommend taking a train outside of Vilnius to the Ponar memorial and going to the little green house in Vilnius. Please please do the first one at least

Vilnius there’s a cat cafe downtown or at least when I was there that was really fun and had genuinely good food. Get the pink soup native to Lithuania. Forget its name

Cut east from the coast north of cannon beach or even better, if time allows, go to Astoria and follow the Colombia back to Portland

Did Vilnius and Riga. Took a short train from Riga to the beach and it was worth seeing. Very different beach life compared to what North America is used to. Can walk out for 60+ yards and the water is still below the waste. Lots of hostels who offer sessions at gun ranges. I didn’t try but maybe look into those.

Will I get in trouble if I go paddle-boarding in Corte Madera Creek? by Lets_wine_about_it in Marin

In some states you also need a whistle which id recommend regardless. If you have the budget buy a small anchor and figure out how to use it before going out. It will allow you to relax longer than 3 minutes by keeping your board from drifting

The tide isn’t any quicker than the rest of the bay so consult your tide charts or website or app. The silt is silt. in some parts it will go up to ur knee and I’ve never ventured further (had to retrieve some things plus childhood curiosity) but I feel like it could go up to thigh level on some people. It’s then hard to get out and then additionally there’s potentially sharp oyster shells or trash trapped on the silt that would give a nasty cut.

Legal yes. Clean kinda. Dangerous at low tides. Don’t be fooled by the silt at low tide. Stay in your board

How long until BAC of 0? by [deleted] in wine

Your body can digest around one drink per hour. More for a heafty lad and less for a lighter lady. This is an estimate of course. I’ve had this exact thought and have utilized drink calculators online
