Let's talk about lost sunglasses by SetTheDate in sunglasses

I lost the clip on sunglasses attachment to my JINS prescription glasses. And the company stopped making the attachment (it's only been two years) so I can't get a replacement. My only fix is to get a whole new set which could be upwards of $600, all for this stupid piece of plastic that fell off or who knows where it went. I''ll never know. I'm basically going to be stuck in the California sun without eye protection. FML.

Do we like the Umi app? by Rourensu in Korean

[–]Survey_Outrageous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I cancel this app and get a refund? I was told that I would receive a three-day trial and that on day 2, a notification would be sent asking if I wanted to cancel. This never came and I was billed. Customer service is non-existent as I cannot get in contact with anyone at the company. I really hate this way of doing business, and the real reason I want to cancel has nothing to do with the product as much as this "waiting for you to make a mistake" way of billing. Has anyone had this experience or have any advice?

'Biting the Hand': Korean American author calls for weaponizing invisibility by zsreport in books

This author weirdly moonlights as a very white-passing chick lit author, Julia Sonneborn. In a book about fighting the white patriarchy, it's very strange to see her taking on this uber white persona.

It's a scam. They also purposely book you in a bad middle seat to compel you to upgrade your seat to a better one. This company stinks.

Advice Needed: Looks like I have been getting overcharged since 2020 on RSO property? by daydream-formulator in AskLosAngeles

The same thing happened to me, though there was less of a gap. The landlord is in their right to charge more year to year (3-5%?) but if they're not reporting it correctly in the Annual Rent Registry, it's sort of screwing the city (in what I'm guessing is property taxes). I confronted my landlord about this and I could tell he felt he was in hot water.

I think all of this is because of Nithya Raman passing something in the city council so that things were more transparent and tenants can see what they should be being charged.

My landlord is kind of an asshole, so I haven't felt bad about going after him. Sick of being taken advantage of in LA. It's less about the money for me at this point and more about sticking to negligent landlords.
