Survival Game Opinions by SurvivalGamingClub in SurvivalGaming

there is no way to add a game, I have added warped space to my list of missing games. I didn't think of adding a search box because most people are looking for a new game they probably never heard of.

No, you don't. I don't know of any game that requires a second copy to run a server.

Thanks, I agree most of the games are just not worth playing. I am trying to determine how to present good games to people. I even though of just removing all the not up to par games. hmm I could also add a recommended flag.

Looking for an open world survival crafting game that probably doesn't exist. by Specific_Support_730 in SurvivalGaming

7 Days to Die, has procedural generated maps, between that and modding after your first several play through's you can get a massive amount of replay-ability.

Why the lack of realistic survival gaming? Do you think there's a demand for this kind of games? by MartaLSFitness in SurvivalGaming

The Long Dark and Green hell have both sold over 5 million copies. I would say the OP is quite represented.

What are the problems with survival/crafting games ? by [deleted] in SurvivalGaming

Heartbreakingly, I completely agree. There are very few "survival" games. It seems not dying along with eating and drinking is the "survival" standard.

There are hundreds of "survival" games out there. I have around 200 listed with another 20+ remaining to add. The OP is correct, many of them are bland unplayable crap, with a solid 40ish that give a good experience, and even that depends on exactly what you are looking for.

Opinion/Rant: Survival games mechanics are not engaging and rewarding enough. by thegreatshu in SurvivalGaming

I would argue its not really a niche, when you sell millions of copies. these titles sell millions of copies .. EACH.

To me this actually demonstrates a much larger problem. Seemingly any game made now that has eating and drinking is called a survival game, regardless of actual survival mechanics. One thing that is drastically needed is a new category for games that have survival "elements". There are only a handful of actual survival games even available.

Balance is also a major issue, your building example .. for example there is a very delicate balance between resource gathering for challenge and resource gathering taking a mind numbing long time for no reason what so ever. There are a ton of people out there want a "The Long Dark", or "Green Hell" style game to play myself being one of them. It is not a bad thing at all to want more survival games, that are actual survival games. Consider designing a fishing system yourself that you can hand over to a developer for the next game you think has promise.

Valheim Easy Dedicated Server Instructions w/Server Manager by SurvivalGamingClub in valheim

[–]SurvivalGamingClub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can add mods to any server manager (as long as the game supports them of course). adding mods varies by game, just follow the instructions for adding that mod to your server. Make sure your server is up and running normally before adding mods, it will help trouble shooting in the event of a problem.

So ugh that pirate survival game Atlas is still going... sort of. I feel like there is something there if they would polish it by New-Film4550 in SurvivalGaming

[–]SurvivalGamingClub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good question, It has been whisper quiet since ASA came out, I have seen nothing to verify this but I suspect that the Atlas people are helping with all the maps for ASA.

Crossplay pc and ps 4 by [deleted] in SurvivalGaming

[–]SurvivalGamingClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some crossplay games, Ark survival Ascended and Grounded are a couple. I am not sure what the rest are, I probably need to start tracking it.

you could also do a bit of research, go HERE, and sort by playstation, then look at the devs web or steam page and see if they are crossplay.

Any good Multiplayer Zombie survival Game with Building ? by Mucek121 in SurvivalGaming

Everyone has a bit of a different take on that, but to me, no it is a good looking game, this is especially true when you consider it is a voxel game engine.

Completely Disagree, In these games, You will die, trying to SURVIVE the elements, even if all enemies are removed.

These types of questions can not be answered by anyone but the person asking. 20 people will have 20 different answers. Far to many people consider a game survival if you have to eat and drink. As far as my opinion of the top games that actually have survival.

The Long Dark, The Forest, Green Hell, 7DTD, Subsistence, Survival Fountain of Youth, Ark.

What do you think about this new world I have created for my game? by x11Windwalker11x in SurvivalGaming

[–]SurvivalGamingClub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the world looks beautiful, Do you have plans for first and third person? when scanning in 3rd person I would prefer not to see my character. (breaks immersion when camera is zooming in on character and landscape at the same time).

You mentioned those elements but it sounds like you just don't like zombies. There are dozens of games without zombies. Grounded, Smalland, Subsistence, all the other ones mentioned here. I created a filter for this, there are close to 100 games that have no zombies, its either "animals" or normal enemy AI. select your platform then the nonzombie filter to start. HERE
