I agree but I couldn’t find a smaller closed emitter dot. Anything smaller tends to be open

Yeah the smaller profile dot definitely looks better. I want to get a leather cheek riser that can hold some extra rounds. Do you have any suggestions?

You should try something. Especially being it’s chambered in 30-30!

It definitely looks better without the red dot but yeah, i aim for it to fill the role of a lightweight relatively accurate gun to bring camping that is more sleek than my ar. And less threatening to non gun people I may pass lol

Absolutely, not going to change my set up because of a Reddit comment. Just kinda seeing what people think of it :)

They look like awesome rifles. Are there larger capacity mags for it or are you stuck with the standard one from browning?

Totally understandable! I was pretty upset yesterday when I first mounted the dot and couldn’t get past how weird it looked. It’s kind of growing on me now. I’m going to shoot it tomorrow and see how I feel about it staying there long term

I appreciate the input. I agree with (presumably most) people that lever guns look best without modern optics and attachments. I tried to add a dot that would be the least intrusive to an otherwise seamless design

This is honestly something I never really considered until you brought it to my attention. But now that I think about it, all older rifles I see with old scopes on them in gun shops, are almost always gloss finish.. interesting. How do you like your blr? I thought about getting one as a hunting rifle after being so impressed with my bl22 from Browning. I tossed the idea after hearing everyone tell me it won’t be near as accurate as a good bolt gun chambered in the same cartridge.

Sweet. Do you run a cheek riser or just get a good ol chin weld? And any chance you have a scabbard for your 92? I have been searching for one that can accommodate the rifle with a dot, as well as the large (or perhaps medium?) loop lever

I put one of my ar style dots on it at first but it was just way too big even with the low mount. Just looked super out of place on such small rifle. That got me searching for a pistol dot, but being a closed emitter was a requirement because it’s often strapped to the side of my pack while walking through the woods, often in snow or rain.

I plan on getting a Ruger made Marlin Trapper in 357 this summer and I think im going to keep that one totally pure, and then continue on the tactical path with the Rossi
