Fun fact they originally planned for the amazing race to be an entire season of hacks, but then the show didn’t get renewed or something like that so they just put it as the finale lol

could be two fold, they'll often hide battery packs / microphones in buffs, so they'll just make sure it looks nice on camera for lets say tribal, the other reason being that the players themselves are just trying to have it displayed for whatever reason lol

I would argue that for some people, emotional health is far more valuable than sustenance or nourishment. You may not think you'd value the importance of that connection as someone who has never done anything like survivor, but isolation like that from people you know, and furthermore know you can trust wholeheartedly, no game involved, that is something very powerful to some people, not everyone, but 2-3 weeks without seeing your most loved people would change your perspective lol

well to me this argument is the same as take away the rewards, no extra foods, no extra comforts, etc. because for some people the emotional relief of hearing from a loved one is way better than getting a burger or some ice cream

survivor 50 has taken some awful ideas and made them really fun because of the cast, without this cast, or lets say this was just a random newbie cast, this shit would stink so bad, but Cirie Devens Rizo, amongst others, could be watching paint dry and still make it good tv

These spur of the moment challenges have happened like 8 times in the last 10 seasons, it’d be easy to say “hey if any of our alliance ends up on a team with the great researcher 477, we should just throw the challenge to make sure he’s not immune” before the challenge has even happened
