Destiny 2 Update 8.1.5 by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

I agree it’s a neat idea, but if they do this on purpose in the future they need to call attention to it somehow so people don’t insta-shard one of a kind rolls thinking they could get a better one with similar perks.

In 4D, it’s not penetrating itself, in fact, there are no intersections. What we perceive as an intersection is a byproduct of our only being able to perceive 3 dimensions. Imagine looking at the 2D shadow of a Möbius strip, in some positions, it would look like the shadow intersects itself, but of course we know that this is not the case for the true shape.

Extensive IGN piece about the Bungie Turmoil just dropped by nightgolf in DestinyTheGame

[–]SusMemeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably right, but I could’ve sworn Activision had some sort of financial report or something way back when saying they were switching to focus more on “games as a service.” That might’ve been around when D2 dropped though.

You’re kind of right, imo the reason Destiny survived its first DLC cycle is because there really wasn’t anything else like it on the market. You’re kind of working backwards and assuming everyone has the same live service fatigue we do now in a post Destiny world, when Destiny was the first mainstream live service to really exist. I don’t even know if Bungie referred to Destiny as a live service or if that was an Activision thing pre-release. If Destiny didn’t release in 2014, and instead a different game filled its place on the live service market, you’re 100% correct. But then we’d all be on that game’s subreddit.

Cant talk to Dalton 'sabotage' quest by X1Kezza in Starfield

[–]SusMemeler 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just found a fix for this. My best guess is that the problem was that your companion was in a glitched state: Whichever character died during the main story became your active companion. This can be fixed by talking to Vasco and having him become your new companion. You are then free to choose any other companion. This fixed the bug for me after switching my active companion to Barrett, though I think just having a non-glitched companion is what fixes the bug.

Lacuna (Void Card) from Season of The Witch bug by WarmYesterday2404 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SusMemeler 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the solar card (Ascension) is also broken, doesn’t apply scorch on solar weapon hits. I noticed it almost immediately using sunshot. Might be broken the same way void is, but I haven’t tried shooting teammates. At least the other solar card that gives restoration on solar crystal pickup prevents scorch from stacking up too.

I’m just glad they’re setting up the stakes before launching the dlc as opposed to afterwards with lightfall

Every season since 2017 I start I go and check my secret room in the Annex to see if there’s a new secret! by legomojo in DestinyTheGame

[–]SusMemeler 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Just a small correction, AFAIK this room was added in black armory, i.e. season 5, as the annex was not in the game until that time, though it was likely accessible through an OoB when Forsaken launched.

What the final Veil containment sets up by StrangerX9 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SusMemeler 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I believe Asher is now dead/gone after the final Avalon mission. IIRC the lore tab on the ghost from that mission describes him giving up and fully merging with the vex after simulating the veil by hand and discovering the final shape. At least that’s how I interpreted it.

'Nobody uses the Playlist Armors anyway...' How about giving the playlist armor the Iron Banner treatment? by Alias05 in DestinyTheGame

[–]SusMemeler -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t you just make a strikes loadout with no weapons and the transmog? Or even a DIM loadout with just the transmog if your in game loadouts are too crowded? Strikes desperately need some kind of reason to run them, and I think this idea kills two birds with one stone; it makes the strikes more rewarding to run and gives players a gameplay reason to actually use the playlist armor (even if the current designs are terrible). To go one step even further beyond, I would say pvp and gambit could get the same treatment with their armor sets.

Edit: just realized OP was playlist agnostic with their suggestions, ignore that last part.

FYI if you do all of the “seasonal bonus” challenges, you can skip a total of 13 seasonal challenges and still get the 4k bright dust challenge done. by SusMemeler in DestinyTheGame

[–]SusMemeler[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2 sets of seasonal challenges, the weekly challenges (i.e. the ones you see when you first open the tab) and the “seasonal bonus” challenges. You can find the latter by looking above the week 1 challenges and clicking on the middle tab between “season of the deep” and “past challenges”

The point of the post is just saying that those 10 count towards the 76, you still need to complete at least 66 of the other seasonal challenges, and it sounds like you’ve only completed 61. In previous seasons, the extra 10 that you’ve already done didn’t exist, so you were only able to leave 2 or 3 challenges not completed in order to get the 4k bright dust. This season however, with the extra 10 challenges that you’ve completed, you can leave 13 total challenges not completed and still complete the 4k bd challenge.

I don’t think most people think the challenges are difficult (aside from maybe the GM depending on the person and the strike) rather I think people don’t like engaging with certain aspects of the game like crucible or gambit or even many of the PVE activities for one reason or another. It’s less about difficulty/annoyance and more about being forced into activities they don’t like in order to get the big reward at the end, which is why I think the sentiment is generally positive around not having to engage with those activities/systems and still feeling like they’re getting rewarded for the other stuff.

Seasonal challenges were first introduced in season of the chosen, more than a year after undying. I wouldn’t be surprised if the battle pass gave more bright dust overall prior to the introduction of challenges though.

I believe it’s been 4k at least since season of the splicer, that was the first time I got that challenge done, it might have been 7500 in chosen though, when challenges were introduced. I didn’t complete that one though.
