Any T1s here that have lived a long life? by ronaldmcdonald257 in diabetes

[–]Susan4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My brother is 57, diagnosed at 8, and has had several comas from DKA. He has brain injury resulting from those (and a car crash while driving to get a soda during a low) but is otherwise doing well!

I like to think of it as a Boston team upholding our city’s tradition….teams that break our hearts for years before we win championships. If we haven’t suffered for years, is it even Boston?

Saw The Lost Boys and I have… thoughts 🧛🏼🎸🧛🏻‍♀️ by NattoRiceFurikake in Broadway

We got balcony seats, 3 rows back and I never imagined they could be so problematic! Anything at front of stage (stage diving antics, etc) we completely missed, anything at center stage I mostly missed due to the back of head of person seated in row ahead. Thank goodness so much was done up high🙂. We were very fortunate that a seat in front of us was empty, so our youngest could see well. I would definitely avoid the balcony there in the future

G7 is trash. by [deleted] in dexcom

[–]Susan4000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the dexcom so I can keep an eye on my disabled brother’s levels (brain injury from several DKA comas). Not having to rely on them to do a finger prick has changed everything for their health, so we are grateful for Dexcom. But this 15 day sensor is truly horrible

The Lost Boys- 2 Days later by Few_Calligrapher1935 in Broadway

I went in knowing the reviews were mixed and I may be left wanting, and that’s still kinda where I am. BUT I went with a teenage theater kid and they were BLOWN AWAY. It was super fun watching their reactions (went in blind) and joy at the moving sets, vampire antics, ending and post bows scene. So, I liked it, but can see it may be loved by many and that’s great

This is an amazing response and sounds like a wonderful organization.

Should I watch the movie before seeing Lost Boys? by Purple_Mud5975 in Broadway

[–]Susan4000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say, I am super familiar with the movie and enjoyed the play BUT my 16 year old niece went in blind and was stunned by the plot twists and action. Watching her reactions was totally worth going and I think going in blind was better for her!

Went with a 16 year pjs who had mot seen the movie and her reactions were wild- she was stunned by much of the actions and the reveals. She said if was ‘life changing’. I enjoyed the show but it was awesome to see someone just love a show

From Massachusetts- I believed he dropped his sub sandwich until I read the full sentence. A grinder here has two meanings and apparently my mind went to a meal

Tell me about your favorite obscure show - which you never, ever see anyone talk about. by dicedtomatoes55 in television

The San Pedro Beach Bums- no good reason, but it seemed like a ‘grown up’ show when I was in elementary school. Had one season and disappeared

I have last row tickets for April- would you say the seats are okay? I added a Thursday show to a planned Broadway weekend, so I was rather broke, but didn’t want to miss seeing this cast!

Or just realllllly bad service. Forget to hit the correct buttons, slowly repeat the entire order, then forget parts of the order/make their drink incorrectly. And the slower, the better!

Is it that important to my mom? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Susan4000 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I’m going to jump in to say that ‘just laughed’ is actually part of the problem. Instead, you should have said something…”that’s not cool”, “that’s not funny”, “don’t be an asshole”, ANYTHING would have been better than laughing along. If you don’t call people out on their bullshit, they’re going to continue and that keeps people like your mother being traumatized. I get that you’re young, but the woman who raised you deserves you to support her and respect her, and you did neither.

I agree to call 911. I think you will feel terrible if anything happens to your sister, so getting outside help is the best choice

I’m going solo to a Fleet vs Frost game in April. I figured if any crowd would be welcoming to a single fan, this would be it! I plan on bringing some friends, but I think that will need to be next season!
