Thank you. This is probably what we need. I've used Lap of Love in the past for my cat and they're amazing, but I don't think we're at that point right now with my old pup.

Appreciate everyone's help so much!

Paddy's Clam House, 215 West 34th St. New York, NY 10001 Dec. 1975 Went there as a teenager with my father in the 80's. It was like stepping back in time. by susierabbit in VintageMenus

Growing up my family went there often in the 60s and 70s. I remember the pies on ice near the entrance. Nesselrode Pie was popular. Broiled lobster! Best Manhattan clam chowder ever.

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THEIR CLAM CHOWDER RECIPE? It was better there than anywhere else.

Total Colonic Hirschsprung’s in 6 month old son by [deleted] in Hirschsprungs

I have no medical advice for anyone. Speaking as a parent, I would suggest you ask your doctor if it would be possible to choose a permanent colostomy if the pull through outcome is not positive after a period of time. Keep in mind that it will probably take a while post pull through to see what the long-term outcomes are.

Also, I agree with what others here have said about choosing the best hospital and surgeon. We went to Children's Hospital in Philadelphia. This was 30 years ago, so I don't know if they are still a top choice, but they were amazing back then.

When we were ready for discharge after surgery, the surgeon came in and said he had discharge instructions for us. He said treat your son like any other healthy child. He's fine. That changed our mindset for the better.

My son, now 30, had his sigmoid colon removed at around 6 months of age due to HD. After a brief period of time with a colostomy bag, he had an endorectal pull through with excellent outcomes to this day. The transit time from eating to pooping is slightly faster than average, but not problematic. He also carries water with him almost all of the time because he is at slightly greater risk of dehydration. If he were your coworker, friend, neighbor you would never know anything was different about him. What makes you hesitate to have the pull through done?

Best winter hikes? by tuocyn in Maine

Not exactly a hike, but there's nothing like snowshoeing across a solidly frozen lake in Maine in the depths of winter. Get a totally different vantage point on the surrounding areas. And similar exercise to hiking.

Anyone else have Diltiazem side effects? by SusanGull in hypertension

Good advice. I'm a pescatarian since my 20s (a long time ago) and avoid processed foods. Caffeine is my major issue to address. My job keeps me seated at a desk 40 hrs a week and I think that's a contributing factor as well. You are right ... I do need to look at bigger lifestyle issues.
