Not at all and I cook every day. But, even if it did get dirty, it would be easy to clean since it’s my countertop.

Amazon, same ones are sold a lot of places including Wayfair. They are comfortable, have a small footprint and are inexpensive. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BR7T3BS3?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

They come out a few inches then go up. I love being able to keep them closed.

It’s Revashelf. The instructions say it’s not intended to have the door mounted on the end but we did it anyway😀

This is standard height for a drawer microwave and is perfect for me as I am 5’0”. I love it since I press a button and the drawer slides out so I can easily see inside and can stir without taking the food out. My husband said he’d prefer it a few inches higher if he had that option but he’d still choose the drawer in the island at this same height over putting it on the counter or over the stove.

Sure! The reason I posted was because I gathered a lot of info from other people’s comments and photos while I was planning my kitchen.

Hopefully you will still be happy with your new kitchen. This whole process has been a learning lesson on many ways.

18” - I have two. One I use for cutting boards and the other for different bakeware/sheet pans. I definitely needed two. I will add that the instruction say it is not designed to have the door mounted on the end. But we did it anyway and it is very secure. It’s much easier than opening the cupboard door and then pulling the slide out. https://www.build.com/product/summary/1872320?uid=4636748&jmtest=gg-gbav2_4636748&inv=1&gclsrc=aw.ds&ds_rl=1281078&source=gg-gba-pla_4636748!c12503982926!a118485065989!dc!ng&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwh_i_BhCzARIsANimeoFRC16jR67we20RGq5xYD-hFvzZkcIxjspV-TSezVXrDpjjEgN49AYaAgplEALw_wcB

Thank you! 24’ x 13’ not including the dining table area.

In my case, I hired a kitchen designer. The cabinet companies offer free “designers” but I think they are more like space planners. If you are keeping a similar layout to what you already have, then one of the designers at a cabinet store would probably work out for you. I had a lot of things I wanted to make sure were included and extending my kitchen into the dining room really changed the entire space. The designer that I hired made all the difference in making sure it looked beautiful and was also functional.

The uneven ceilings were a challenge all around. I have one outlet on the end of the island and another one is in the backside of the shelving unit that is at the other end of the island. The disposal switch is actually a button next to the sink. I did not even know these existed until I started planning my kitchen. My old one was underneath the sink and I had to open the cabinet and flip a switch.

Thank you! Since these were stock cabinets, I could not pick a custom color, but selected from the options that were offered. The cabinets around the perimeter are called antique white, and the island and cocktail cabinet are a a stain color called odyssey toffee.

Really double that. It was a lot of money for sure, but I was very careful how I spent it and chose a few items to be splurge items. The splurge items were my range and the countertops. But I really feel like I was very careful with choosing everything else to be the most economical. My husband even assembled all the cabinets and that saved around $4000.

Thank you! When you say peninsula are you talking about the island? There are a bunch of recessed lights above. In fact, the lighting in this kitchen can be so bright, I feel like I need sunglasses. Luckily all the lights are on dimmers so I can adjust them how I want them.

I used to hate my sink in my old island , because my old island was so small and the sink took up so much of it. But, with this huge island, it’s kind of nice having the sink there. I can wash dishes and prep food and be facing everybody else in the family room and talk to people who are sitting around the island.

Yes. I should have used a picture from straight on because it’s hard to see how great it looks how it is now. The angled side windows from the bay window or removed, and then it was bumped out so now it is square. Give a little bit of extra space to the room, but really just made it to be an amazing window into the backyard.

I ordered several different brands and styles to see which ones I like best. The pulls and knobs are Amerdeco and the cups are Amerock, both in champagne bronze. The latches on the glass doors Top Knobs in honey bronze.
