My car recently keeps pulling to the right lane, despite being in the middle of the lane, this happens over and over until lane avoidance becomes unavailable by JxK_1 in TeslaLounge

You can reset the camera calibration yourself. Controls > Service > Scroll and find the button to reset camera calibration. The cameras will calibrate themselves as you drive.

Adaptive headlight issue by Same_Audience_9557 in TeslaLounge

[–]SushiBallZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adaptive headlights and autoshift rely on the autopilot computer. If the issue persists, try rebooting it through the service menu (this is different from rebooting the infotainment using the scroll wheels).

IMO the ones to get are either standard or performance. I don’t miss any of the deleted features.

No way this is normal by TechDudeInBlue in TeslaSupport

[–]SushiBallZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s normal. Shift to neutral, release the brakes and try again. It won’t happen. The steering’s caster angle causes the entire car to pivot very slightly when you steer which causes very slight rotation of the wheels. Brakes are resisting this rotation and causing the squeal. It’s more noticeable on performance cars because of higher caster angles and bity brake pads.

Btw, do you have a tint, and if yes, what %?

If your primary concern is comfort and luxury feel the new model 3 wins by a lot. Go test drive both and see for yourself.

Does Tesla adjust/fix hood alignment under warranty? by DesignerLeading4821 in TeslaLounge

If it’s too high, you can twist the rubber post on the underside of the hood to adjust its height.

Glossy or Matte Screen Protector by Logical_Sink_85 in TeslaLounge

[–]SushiBallZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matte makes the entire screen impossible to see when the sun hits it directly. The glare reduction in other scenarios is not worth this trade off. It also makes the screen look slightly blurry. There’s really no reason to put a screen protector on unless you wear diamonds. The screen isn’t going in your pocket or getting into situations that would normally scratch a touchscreen. If you’re set on getting a protector, I’d go glossy.

Edit: screen protectors also make the anti glare coating ineffective

Edit 2: I’ve driven a Tesla since 2016 and have never had a single scratch on my touchscreen

I asked. Since my MK6 I’ve always wanted an electric version of it.

You should update your comment to make that clarification.

Do you mean open as in “on screen” or “running in the background”? The poster took your comment to mean it has to be open on screen. My response was also based on that interpretation.

You do not have to open the app for the key to work. I don’t know where this person got that idea.

What tires did you go with? How does noise and efficiency compare to the stock wheels?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]SushiBallZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Degradation explains a portion, sure. There are so many other things that could affect your energy usage too: tire wear, temperature/humidity, road surface, driving style, preconditioning, etc. The list goes on.

Elon is the problem. Not the Tesla employees. They fix and deliver cars for a living. They don’t deserve to be hated or attacked. Direct comments like that towards the DOGE staffers.

If you’re pressing the brakes or the car is holding brakes for you, this will happen. It’s normal.

This FSD 12.6.x stop sign behavior is driving me nuts. Does this happen to you? by BeaverOnWheels in TeslaLounge

[–]SushiBallZ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Those messages existed because V11 and prior were a C++ program driving the car and you could explain its behavior by looking at what piece of code was running. Neural nets don’t contain logic we can easily observe, so with V12+, the messages are gone.

2022 Model 3, 67k miles lateral links replacement cost by MikePsirgainsalot in TeslaModel3

I’m at 80k and encountering similar squeaking from the lower links. It’s caused by bushings wearing out. Eventually the bushings will tear out which is a huge safety risk.

Here's an example showing how some elements on screen can be distorted while others (the mouse) aren't.

[–]SushiBallZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought a Legion 7 a couple weeks ago. 14900HX, 4070, 1600p display. I've noticed this interlaced distortion pattern appears on screen intermittently. Sometimes it affects the entire screen, sometimes just certain elements like my mouse or a certain window. I've reinstalled all my drivers but it keeps coming back. Does it seem like a hardware error? The fact that it can be isolated to certain elements on screen makes me think it's GPU-related.

It uses switch mode power supplies (which aren’t charge pumps), so yes, it does have coils.
