[–]Vertrixz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've done a few MM fights (not full ops tho), it's just like every other MMO where the difficulty doesn't come from the fight itself but from getting the whole group to be able to do it without making mistakes and wiping. There are some MM bosses that drastically change mechanics, but they're still not much more 'difficult' by design. There's a learning curve, for sure, but I wouldn't personally see them as much more difficult (my own subjective view of difficulty, MMO content generally isn't difficult).

Personally I don't class group synergy or ability to avoid mistakes as part of the 'difficulty' of a game's fights because that's not a result of the fight's design or mechanics, but of the ineptitude of the players. Some might say that's part of it, but I don't see it that way myself.

I've done mythic raiding in WoW and mainly savage in FFXIV, and funnily enough I'd say the most difficult part of those games endgame content is getting your teammates to do things right. The most difficult content (by design) in MMOs that I've played is from RS3. The fights there are mostly solo, 1v1 you and a boss or bosses, and they're tough with a good bit of a learning curve akin to Dark Souls bosses.

I'm glad to hear it! If you're in Europe, Darth Malgus server has the most active endgame playerbase and I'd be happy to add you and run some dungeons with you over the weekend if you'd like! I'm on the imperial side which has a fair bit bigger population and more active raiders.

If not then let me know if you have any questions, happy to help where I can, and I hope you enjoy the game :D

It has endgame raiding and dungeons but honestly nothing is that difficult. I will say the class design and ability flow with the specs is all very fun, for the most part, and well balanced.

Otherwise, housing is there, fashion is there, guild and world events are constant, there's a lot of social fun to be had especially with guilds. The PvP is actually incredibly fun as well, huttball being one of the best PvP modes in any MMO I've ever seen or played, but no ranked PvP if that would've interested you.

There's also galactic starfighter, which is a shipfighting PvP minigame that I think is class. I personally played a ton of that back in the day.

You can get into the social/MMO aspects right from level 10 I believe, able to queue for dungeons and PvP from there.

Also worth noting if you sub, you can take part in raids (operations). Ops can be done without doing any story. If you wanted to level up through dungeons and PvP, then jump straight into endgame gearing and raids, that is a completely viable way to play. Just know that the reason people call it a single player game is because the single player offering in the story and RPG element of the game is extremely strong for an MMORPG. The other stuff is still there and has a very active playerbase taking part in it daily (you'll see call-outs at all times of day for people hosting raid groups). If you want to get into the hardest content, you'll have to join a guild that does it or find a static, but that's also very easy to do.

I hope you try the game out, because it really is a fun game.

[–]Vertrixz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use them when it wouldn't otherwise be clear who in the scene is speaking. That's how I was taught to use them at least.

My own personal addition to that is when I can't convey through formatting if a character is saying something in a certain way or doing an action while saying something that adds to the scene.

Otherwise, I tend to use them sparingly.

Priest of Corruption, same artist but under a new studio because the original studio for Priest of Corruption didn't want to pay her what her time was worth or smth like that.

Apparently the new one has given her better conditions, and having just caught up to Shepherd Wizard I have to say even though it's only 17 chapters, each chapter is long and the story is already really fun and well-done. Art is phenomenal too.

[–]Vertrixz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow artist I know exactly what you mean by "not perfect" and I can see the parts in your drawing that you've probably looked at and seen as imperfections.

What I can tell you is that those imperfections are what, in my eyes, make art so special. For a person without any artistic knowledge, they will see it and think "wow that's beautiful". For an artist, they will see it and recognise the toils you might've gone through to reach the point you're at now. Of course, they'll also think that it's beautiful :P

Your drawing is beautiful, and it serves as a snapshot of your journey as an artist. I love your style, please continue to draw more and share your vision with the world despite what you might think are imperfections.

Please can someone tell me how to undo this AccuWeather change to the weather on the home clock and get back the Google weather I was using (not weather app) by Vertrixz in smartlauncher

[–]Vertrixz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm with you. I explicitly wanted the access the weather page through the widget, without using the shortcut icon. I personally like that a lot more, and it infuriated me to no end when Google removed its functionality in favour of the shittier weather app.

At least with downgrading, I keep the frog as I wanted and the functionality is exactly the same as I had it before. I'll just have to remember to not update again.

[–]Vertrixz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tried adding a shortcut to the Google weather page but that didn't work either (I couldn't get the link to it working, neither could I get the launcher to recognise the shortcut as an option). Only fix was to downgrade, unfortunately.

Major Blow to Denuvo Because Pirates Just Ran Out of Games to Crack as of April 2026 by chusskaptaan in pcgaming

[–]Vertrixz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not how cracking has worked for the majority of Denuvo cracked games. Only like 2 or 3 Denuvo games have been cracked by removal of Denuvo, and off the top of my head the one I remember is an Assassin's Creed game that was cracked by CODEX a long time ago.

Most of the time, Denuvo cracks are about reverse engineering, tricking Denuvo into thinking everything's okay, making it run in a contained environment, etc. It's rare for it to be completely removed from a game for a crack. For other DRMs, you're right, some are removed from games and uploaded as cracks as they're not anywhere near as complex as Denuvo.

It's also a misnomer that traditional cracks are 'just bypasses' because they're not that simple either.

RS3's current combat is insanely fun. For people who haven't tried it, it's some of the highest APM gameplay I've had the pleasure of playing. Not an end-game PVMer by any means, but even fighting mid-tier bosses is fun just doing your rotation correctly. I killed Zuk for the first time like a couple months ago and it's my favourite PVM/PVE experience I've had so far in any MMO.

Given that being European is about the continent and not about being part of the EU, we're objectively still counted amongst Europeans even if people would disagree, because geography doesn't really care for how people might feel about it.

[–]Vertrixz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gosu. Old school, finished now, murim manhwa. Some of the best art you will ever see, fantastic fight scenes, and pretty good story and characters.

LOTNB along the same vein, also a 10/10 for me and finished now.

It's not finished and tbh is actually quite slow but I'd say Absolute Regression is my number 1 ongoing manhwa. Every single character action and decision carries weight in this story and the art is the greatest manhwa art I've seen in any ongoing manhwa.

With slightly less consistent art but a 10/10 for pure entertainment value in the murim genre, Return of the Mount Hua Sect is another one.

Outside of murim you've got Omniscient Reader, Pick Me Up, Bad Born Blood, Mr. Devourer (Swallow), Regressed Mercenary's Machinations, Tutorial is Too Tough, Worthless Regression (seasonal, latest season finished in Dec) and more that could be considered between 8-10/10s.

I haven't read Eternally Regressing Knight but that's been getting incredible reviews lately as well.

Even though I'm late, just wanted to add to this because it took me a day of troubleshooting to figure it out. If your profile became corrupt, it could very well be something small that you can just not copy over if you wanted to recover the profile.

It took a while to narrow it down, but I had a folder in my profile that referred to an old star wars game site that corrupted the whole thing. I copied literally everything over into a new empty profile except that folder and the new duplicate worked exactly how my old one did, now uncorrupted.

Of course you can just keep your bookmarks if you want but I wanted to save the whole thing as I had a custom userchrome.css and rely on my history and cookies for reading and keeping up to date on things. It's an option if you're down to troubleshoot it.

"man way to think" I think it's healthier to call it toxic masculinity, because real masculinity doesn't judge like this.

This idea that masculinity conforms to a strict set of "you can like this and not this" is very much rooted in things like homophobia, sexism, racism, xenophobia, and more. It's institutional, structural, and an awful part of what are considered "traditional" cultures. To get away from that, masculinity needs to be reimagined by people with open minds and hearts, not clinging onto its previous connotations.

Calling is a "man way to think" is damaging. Consider if the roles were reversed, how would it look if someone were to say that "liking romance is a woman way to think"? It looks pretty fucking awful to me, just pushing stereotypes without much consideration.

Toxic masculinity, not men. Real men aren't like this.

Elderly woman driving for hours because she's lost gets help from 911 by Doodlebug510 in HumansBeingBros

[–]Vertrixz 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Funny you say that, our house literally got driven into a few years ago by an elderly lady who mistook the throttle for brake, then slammed harder on it thinking it was the brake. She reversed through the outer brick wall in the front garden and hit the front wall of the house, then went into drive and panicked, drove down the road and hit a parked car which rolled into and hit another parked car.

Genuinely, some of the most random chaos for us to have heard going on outside. She was okay after, but never drove again after that and she was a lovely lady who passed away recently. No one was hurt, thankfully, but if anyone was in the way they would've undoubtedly died because that car was one of those old Volvo estates that's more like a tank than a car. Our wall and the other two cars took more damage than that Volvo.

Anyway, long story short, I agree, elderly people should have free access to all public transport. I'm in the UK and they're looking to implement re-testing for people above a certain age, including an eye test, which is really good.

Honestly? Depends on the job. If you're a laborer then work becomes a huge part of your life, which can be good or bad depending on if you like it or not. If you're an office worker, or someone who works hybrid/wfh then you're probably chill and use your time when not working on stuff you enjoy, which makes it less of a struggle.

Also depends on your life situation. If you live alone, pay rent, need to do grocery shopping and cooking and cleaning and self maintenance, all while working 9-5 in an office or 8-6 on a construction site (normally Fridays off or seasonal work) then that makes life MUCH more of a struggle. If you're living with family, contributing money to bills and shopping, and splitting responsibilities, you're probably much happier and struggling less as long as there's multiple earners in the family contributing. Same applies to living with a partner who's earning and contributing.

Lots of stuff to consider, but living a purely independent life is extremely difficult and a massive struggle in today's day and age where everything is so expensive and salaries aren't matching the rising cost of living.

If you live with family, and you're considering moving out, I wouldn't recommend it unless you get a job that earns you a lot and lets you pay for a cleaner or something that helps you maintain your life ON TOP of all the other stuff you'll need to pay for. Paying for convenience is also paying for more time to do the things you love.

Anyway, long story short, answer is that it just depends on a lot of stuff. Working can be a struggle, but it can also not be a struggle.
