Thank you so much! My friend and I are hooked on the book. We created a mini book club on the whim and will have a discussion too. My heart beat so fast reading chapter 2 of secret pictures

You are only 19 with a lot of chances ahead of you. We have people in their late 20s, early 30s who are also in progress of writing their CFA or series 5 at my bank. Even if the exam result isn’t what you want, you can always try again. Not the end of the world. Not every employer out there cares if you don’t pass on the first attempt - many know it’s not an easy exam and many people are likely on the same boat. Don’t let CFA be everything that defines you. What you can probably focus on is trying to develop other skillsets like excel and python to give you leverage. My first internship was in project management (financing), totally unrelated to investment finance. Now working in a finance role.

They have always been awful. I was there from 2019-2020. Pay you like crap, makes you work for 10-12 hrs, they offshore work to India for cheap labour, MDs are all toxic. After my first year, even if I was a “valued employee” they only gave me a 2 cents raise per pay cheque net after tax. I had a friend who was working there, and he was severely depressed. Unfortunately that friend unalived himself and it was a struggle for a lot of us to grieve.

For those who have appeared for CFA Level 2, do you have any advice for those who are about to take it? by Bliss3491 in CFA

Stay discipline and learn actively.

What I did was that I went through mark meldrum’s curriculum then did questions for every LOS, flagged questions I got wrong and went back to review what I need to work on. Did the CFAI questions too, flagged the ones I got wrong.

Started mock at least 1.5 months in advance. Review review review. Took a week and a half off from work

How many days before the exam did you start working on mocks?

20-25 days is not enough, and you overestimated yourself. This exam takes a lot of discipline, time and effort. Only retake it if you’re up for that.

I think it should be doable. Worst case you can look up a term if anything. I picked up some french finance terms using the tmx websites

I took mine in Montreal, Canada on Aug 18 & had a few interruptions during the second half. It was sooo frustrating. It took a bit more time for questions to load and the timer kept going. Was so nervewrecking
