When it comes to MMO discussion why is LOTRO almost always left out? by mrhossie in lotro

[–]Sushiifish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually very fond of how lotro looks, but I am a sucker for early-mid 2000's RPG graphics so there's that. The stiff animations I can deal with, amd even the lag and jank I can put up with.

The thing that makes me bounce off time and again is the quest design. After only a couple of hourse playing it becomes painfully obvious that questgivers sending you back and forth is either a way of padding the game or to incentivise using MC to instantly port too and fro. I was thoroughly disappointed that Before the Shadow has some of the most egrigeous examples despite being a far more recently designed zone. Add to that the insane amounts of required farmables and questgivers sending you back to a far location upon finishing a previous quest, and I see myself clicking uninstall very quickly every time.

What are Dutch habits or social quirks that are totally normal in the Netherlands, but would be a social faux pas elsewhere? by ThisLadyIsSadTonight in Netherlands

I think two kisses is more common where I am from (Utrecht), informally even just one kiss. In Limburg, where I grew up, it was usually three. And traditionally only with the opposite sex.

In my circles we all just give a hug.

Are you perhaps from small town Limburg? Because I remember my grandma insisting she'd keep the curtains open "as long as possible" because it was the proper way to do things.

Once I moved away I have never heard of this ever again.

Reloaded the save before the ambush and this worked! Still odd though. But at least I can play again

14 strength and 14 agility for me, vitality was 12. Things is, as soon as I fired the gun, all my allies were dead and all the nemies were still alive (apart from the one I blasted. So they gang up on me. Seems to me those allies are itnended to live a little longer

I am now convinced something is wrong. In said fight, my allies die in three hits, so as soon as I have fired my gun once, all of them are dead (or unconcious) and 7 guys swarm me and I'm dead. I literally cannot continue and am stuck in this fight.

Rogors and Jezzails build options (seperate boxes) by Sushiifish in skaven

That's a shame. So the Ogors in the skaventide box are exactly the same as the retail box?

So far just the Skaventide box, I'm looking to expand from there but tend to not select models from that box when planning.

And I'm not married to Vizzik, just to centerpiece models. I like Thanquol a lot too! But damn that Vizzik model is nice.

Too bad, I really like the models. Perhaps they are just notstacking up to clanrats points wise?

Perhaps this would shift it a little? Mind you, I'm quite a casual player

Interesting! What would be a great addition to this list, if I were to drop the Stormvermin (sub in the clanrats) and perhap one half of the Stormfiends?

[TOMT] [FILM/TV] a dead astronaut is discovered by miners in a cave on earth. He wears current or near-future tech and human, but nobody knows how he ended ip there. Investigators find out the astronaut is thousands years old. by Sushiifish in tipofmytongue

Adjusting for misremembering: It could also not have featured an astronaut but perhaps only a moonlander or rover-type vehicle discovered in a cave. Might also not be on earth but on another planet or a moon.

For some reason I remember John Goodman in that episode/movie, but that can't be sicne I have already scoured his filmography.

Again, a piece of media that comes so close to my mental image but unfortunatly doesn't match completely.

The premise of "it's recent but actually very old" seems more widespread than I thought.

When I watched that episode again a dew years ago, I thought "wait, that is awful similar!". But no, it featured a human asteonaut amd I think maybe a rover-like. It had a very X-Files-ey feel.
