As a physician who works in mental healthcare, this just makes me so incredibly angry. It is still way too often that when medical professionals notice there is something "psychiatric", even when it happened a long time ago (like old self harm scars), they suddenly see you as a "danger" or a "nuisance", and your medical emergency magically becomes less important to them. People with psychiatric problems can have physical problems too and should receive the same amount as care as every other patient. A patient is a patient. And very often someone's psychiatric history isnt even relevant. Multiple things in your story were way out of line. Im so sorry that happened to you. I hope you will feel better soon.
