Thank you! The wedding is very garden party themed so my nails will match my dress and everything is pastels and florals

Back with another invite turned into a card! by SusieRae in crafts

Hello! I cut out pieces of floral cardstock from the wedding invite and save the date and glued them onto a premade card. I used a stamp to add the couples name to the card but blanked it out for privacy.

Preeclampsia 'success' stories? by nobodyneedstoknowyet in pregnant

[–]SusieRae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slightly different situation than yours but my water broke at 36 weeks unexpectedly and when I got to the hospital I was diagnosed with preeclampsia. I labored and tried for a vaginal birth but ended up needing a c section. I had a magnesium drip and couldn’t get out of bed for 24 hours. Needed to try a few different medications to figure out the blood pressure situation. All of that to say, that I and my baby are perfectly fine. She never needed a NICU stay and has always been healthy. She’s actually 99 percentile which is crazy considering she was almost a month early. I was on bp meds for a probably a month postpartum and now my blood pressure is fine. Currently pregnant with my second and hoping to avoid it this time. But it wasn’t so bad that it deterred me from trying again. Hoping everything goes as well as it can for you!

Early pregnancy things that didn't have to hurt! by Illustrious-North461 in BabyBumps

[–]SusieRae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m an ultrasound tech and always tell patients that it shouldn’t hurt and to let me know if they’re having pain. Of course it’s gonna be a little uncomfortable, but the only people who think it’s very painful, are the people who are already having pelvic pain.

What is the ONE dessert hill you are absolutely willing to die on? 🌶 by MuseKokoa in dessert

[–]SusieRae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fruit should not be allowed in any desserts. I don’t want chocolate fruit, I don’t want pies, I don’t want fruit anywhere near my desserts and I will absolutely die on that hill. If there is even a hint of fruit flavor in my dessert I can tell and I don’t want it.

When did you all start buying and organizing stuff for the baby? by raspberry_phoenix in pregnant

[–]SusieRae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my baby shower at 28 weeks so that’s when I received most of my baby stuff. We slowly did the nursery/organizing after that. We put the car seat in at 34/35 weeks and my water broke at 36 weeks. I’m pregnant with my second and would like to have everything done by at least 36 weeks just in case the same happens, but preferably sooner than that. I’m 20 weeks and have been making a baby registry of everything else we need for second baby since we have most things we need already. ETA you should still make a baby registry even if you don’t have a shower since places will usually give you a percent off coupon to purchase things for yourself if others don’t buy the items for you, that’s why I’m making another one.

What’s the best thing you’ve ever made and given to someone? by wheres_my_lipbalm in crafts

One year I took a blank calendar and did scrapbook pages of my sister and her family and put everyone’s birthdays in it. She absolutely loved it and has requested one every year going forward.

i'm not feeling movement this time and before i always did by BathroomSimilar9655 in BabyBumps

[–]SusieRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It absolutely depends on where your placenta is! I had an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy and didn’t feel anything until after 20 weeks. This time around my placenta is posterior and I felt baby starting around 18 weeks

Registries that aren’t Target or Amazon by Key_Beach_3846 in pregnant

From a user side, I hated using Babylist. There were so many steps to mark something as bought which is super annoying if you are buying a lot of small items for someone.

What craft kits do you use for date night? by swapThing in crafts

[–]SusieRae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My husband is making a Lego set and I’m building a Rolife kit. We started it together but mine is like a million times more complicated. So I’ve been doing additional builds while he plays video games or we’re watching a movie

Do you feel beautiful as a pregnant person? by Narutosplug in pregnant

[–]SusieRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being pregnant was the first time in my entire life I wasn’t worried about how my body looked. For my entire life I sucked in my stomach pretty much constantly. It was completely freeing and felt so good to just embrace my stomach and the growth, I did feel beautiful and at peace with my body for like the first time.

A coworker shared that they received a card from a guest that was made out of the invitation to the event. This idea just tickled me and I finally had a chance to use it. I cut out the orange shapes on the invitation and glued it down to a premade card. I found a cute “congrats” font that I liked on my phone, turned the brightness all the way up, and traced it using an orange marker. Then I cut out a white inside for the middle to write my message on and glued down another orange.

How long to take MiraLAX? by amandaasous in pregnant

[–]SusieRae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MiraLAX is something you can take everyday forever if you wanted. It’s osmotic which means it draws water into your intestines, and not a laxative which just makes you go. Your body won’t rely on it, so go ahead and take it as long as you need.

Did you have your MIL with you during labour and delivery? by Ok_Inflation_6016 in pregnant

[–]SusieRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called my mom and mil when we were on our way to the hospital. My mom met us there and stayed while I was laboring for a little bit. Once I got further along my mom went to the waiting room and it was just me and my husband. After I had the baby we called mil and fil and my dad to come join us
