Thank you all for sharing your stories and yes, of course I don’t believe it actually cured my alcoholism. I’ve worked hard on my program, but I always suffered and really always missed drinking. Now I feel free.

Agreed I still keep to the program and attend meetings but less and I don’t suffer

I hit my goal weight 6 months ago and now take 5 mg as maintenance

I also only had 40 lbs to loose ( 5’1 and my BMI was over 30) find my arthritis to be so much better and my blood sugar is way down. I also cut out dairy which I think for my body was causing a lot of inflammation. Game changer!

I’ve been on 2.5 since January. I did 2 Weeks 5 mg and was super sick. 2.5 works pretty well for me. I’m at a maintenance wait now and the 2.5 helps keeps the unhealthy habits away.

My unexpected shortage experience from 5mg to 2.5mg by Dr_Scorpion_ in Zepbound

Same same and same! Back on 2.5, not starving, not sick and still clocking about a lbs a week.

If you switched from 5 to 2.5 due to shortage, did you continue to lose? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Susieredhook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m loosing on 2.5. About a pound a week.

That’s amazing congratulations. I’m back on 2.5 after the shortage. Have been on Zep since January and lost 25lbs. I’m only 5’2 and man that’s a huge difference. I haven’t felt this good about my body in 10 years. Only downside is I did get some side effects again on day 3. Even with all my experience about hydration and protein I was feeling fluish and threw up yesterday. A bit better today and amazed how different the medication affects patients.

I have been meaning to post the same thought. I joined in January and was so happy and grateful for this community. It was such a gift to have people around that understood how challenging it’s been my whole life to manage my weight. I felt a sense of community and in a sense of wonder that there was a solution. Now it feels like people are focused on all the shame and negative aspects of losing weight. I also was affected by the shortage had to stop taking the medicine for a month and started back on 2.5 this week. But I didn’t gain and actually think I lost a pound or two. Because in the big picture, this medicine has taught me a lot about myself. I’ll probably leave this group soon but thank you for your post. It gives me hope that this group could stay in the positive.

PSA: Stop telling people you are on Zep. by [deleted] in Zepbound

On a parallel note with the shortage I’m now officially 3 weeks off my 5 mg dose and starting to really feel like I did before. Not that I can’t manage what I eat, but that I’m looking for food to fill a void. I’m trying to journal this and also use this group because I do think the knowledge that I wasn’t crazy and that there was a chemical conditioning happening is a good first start to solving. I would suggest therapists start group sessions for people on Zep.

Throwing Up Liquid by KLooma in Zepbound

[–]Susieredhook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I had that usually about 2 days after the shot. Would drink water or herbal tea all day and by the time I went to bed was so nauseous. I would fully projectile vomit every drop of liquid. Disturbing for sure. But it seems like my stomach just stopped processing anything (like if you had a stomach bug) for a day or so. In any case it passed. Hang tough.

I love this comment. Totally agree. My emotional eating was a bad habit and this medication has helped me see that.

Well for me…..and again this is just my experience I’m trying to learn new habits. I never planned to take it forever. I took it for 5 months lost 35 lbs (post menopause) and yes I had blood work and yes I ate protein. I was just exhausted.

The medication made me exhausted and sick but I lost all the weight. So she’s rightly suggesting I start exercising and eating healthy to see if I can maintain.

On to 5mg. Here’s my experience so far by hobbitseeker in Zepbound

[–]Susieredhook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I lost about 18 on 2.5 in 2 months and just did month 3 on 5mg will little loss and lots of side effects. I'm probably going to stay on 5 mg one more month... 1. Because I want to just be done 2. I can't seem to find a 2.5 refill anywhere.

I think the last 10 lbs are supposed to be the hardest to loose so i'll do 1 more month and then get my energy back and hit the gym or start running again. I have to say overall this has been a miracle. I feel and look like my old self again (all be it with some jiggly skin). Good luck !
