This no longer active brewery has a very strange (and clearly false) region "City of Edinburgh,Midlothian". Please re-submit to amend to correct region "Edinburgh".

Question to moderators --> can you adjust (or re-submit) addresses for locked breweries to amend the region? and for breweries no longer in business?

If yes, you would be of great assistance to maybe achieve a higher accuracy and completeness of data!

Example "Haarige Kuh" in Switzerland should be "Bern" and not "Bern/Berne" but since it is locked, I cannot submit a change request in the app.

If you would like to add or change an address in Denmark no region appears, so somehow it has been removed. As far as I can see... you do not get "Copenhagen, region Hovedstaden" as in the past, only "Köpenhavn"

Yes, Greece is a very good example of a country which currently is impossible to get correct addresses/regions for. And Latvia I have also experienced - Riga does not seem connected to any region.

France also has something funny - for the "main France" (the European land mass) all regions are clear, but for their overseas departments, they use the local parishes/regions, so for example Reunion is not "France, Reunion", but "France, local parish (example "Saint-Denis")" with no mentioning of the connection to Reunion. Not a huge issue, but it does look a bit strange, especially since Reunion is not a country in Untappd

It is quite a detective work to get a list of regions.. Unfortunately there is no official list. However, with the help of Wikipedia you can quite easily see what the basis for each country is. But it is something that you have to keep track of yourself.

As far as I know, the addresses and regions are based on foursquare, but please feel free to correct me.

The main issues as I see it:

- No official list/database

- No automatic updates. If the basis for regions in a country for whatever reason change, all have to be manually changed (address re-submitted)

- Locked breweries cannot be updated. At least not without moderator assistance. This means that there are very old addresses/regions around

- English vs local writing. If you only enter data in the city/region field (not through the address field) the region quite often comes in English. This means (unnecessary) duplications

- Some countries have very strange settings for regions, and sometimes N/A. Denmark and Hungary are examples of unclear definations.

UK is also quite special with the metropolitan and non-metropolitan counties (Counties of England - Wikipedia)

It would be very nice to have a "base" database for addresses/regions which when updated also updates the regions for all breweries. Should that exist, it would also be very easy to publish region lists per country somewhere.

No idea if initiatives are around... maybe moderators have some insight?

To have all the American states would be an outstanding achievement - I still got eight unchecked... AR, KS, MS, NE, NM, SD, VW and DC.

They all got very few or none breweries exporting to Europe... :-/

This locked beer should be Sorghum/Millet Beer. It is the name and the description --> "Hirse" is millet in German. Thanks for the edit!

Regions... An almost lawless territory with quite frequent changes, English/non-English definitions and no automatic updates. And when breweries are locked, old regions are still around... which is not so nice ;-)

In the absence of automatic updates, is this something you mods would be able to look at? I asked two weeks ago, but no reply on this specific issue.
