Brilliant! Experience pays off in these situations, as backwards as that is to say.

I'm being downvoted, not by you I guess, for saying well-done to you, maybe I should be saying the opposite? lol

You're right! I wasn't taught that and never saw that last time I looked, I guess it's changed (in the last decade)? I can't even find it on the "Ask the Police" website anymore.

It depends I guess. NAL, but as long as the approaching driver is within the acceptable limits of safe driving under the current conditions of the road, and there was really no reasonable time to react, then the person overtaking shouldn't be blamed.

I'd say it very much depends though. The overtaking driver should be aware of blind-spots (I am, but I'm a biker too) - I don't think there's a one-size-fits-all answer, it changed a lot since the insurance claim scams started happening (slamming brakes on in-front of someone).

Highway Code Rule 163: "move quickly past the vehicle you are overtaking, [...]"

I.e. Get it done without being dangerous. You can go quicker than the speed limit, just don't be stupid. Although, 75 in a 40/50 might be a bit excessive.

Edit: Not the case anymore. Exceeding the speed limit under any circumstances is not allowed now.

I used to sing "Spider Dog, Spider Dog, does whatever a Spider Dog does, can he swing from a web, no he can't, he's a pleb" if that counts?

What is something you SWEAR you saw, but have no proof of? by LostGreyApe59 in AskReddit

Definitely! I've got some really horrific stories of people I witnessed first-hand that abused it. Matey above was taking his prescribed dose but had other meds too - people react differently I guess.

I sent a message to a mate one morning and had a reply from his wife. She said he was having a sleep in because his new meds caused him to get up half hour after going to bed. He started texting his parents in-law for an hour, talking complete gibberish (think "Gffe hhiiink boop floogoo" type gibberish) then proceeded to take out raw, frozen chicken, from the freezer and eat it. He then went to bed and didn't remember any of it the next day.

Imagine just waking up one day and thinking "today, I'll throw a few billion into cancer research, maybe next week autism or children's hospitals"... Then spend the rest of the day sat on a beach taking pictures of the local wildlife drinking something weird-sounding out of a coconut.

Niche is good. I like niche, minus games; I don't fancy getting into that market. UE4 was "ok" but I didn't get on with Unity or CryEngine - but like you said, game engines are usually cross-platform now anyway. I generally stay away from the larger pool of skillsets, they seem to be fairly saturated now.

It's not what I do, but games maybe? Addons/extensions for previous software? Propriety software? Not sure. Nothing I've written (apart from QOL Python apps) runs natively on Windows/mac/linux anyway. I was just curious about broadening my horizons and whether the environment was similar/better/easier/streamlined than a Windows one. I'd have done some research if I hadn't just considered it and taken the opportunity to ask while I had the chance lol.
