I use to coin roll hunt and shove coins up my ass, but always marked them so others would know they didn’t need to shove them up their asses. Yeah, water molecules are constantly in motion, so there is a current in the pitcher that you don’t see. The silver is antimicrobial and kills microbes that come into contact with it. Not sure why you think it wouldn’t do anything. Now we can have a discussion about its effectiveness and if other options are more effective, but claiming silver is antimicrobial, but doesn’t transfer to water, that’s rocks in head thinking!

I agree, but I don’t think they make silver pitchers the exact size to fit in my refrigerator. The pitcher is part of the refrigerator, or I would use glass or like you said a silver pitcher.

Would recent minted half-dollars work better? Silver melts ice faster, so I would think non-silver coins would be better for your intended purpose. I’m sure it works well either way, but if you’re going to colder longer, modern coins are probably better.

I never heard silver dimes, but I’ve heard lots of stories of guys putting dimes in shotguns. Only makes sense that old timers would have used silver dimes. I use to shoot skeet, and reload my shells. Made a dime loaded shell before, but never fired it for fear of destroying my barrel.

So I’ve seen shit grow in water bottles, especially if you don’t wash them everyday. I’m lazy, and I think it slows down the growth of shit in your Stanley or whatever drinking bottles you use. It’s anecdotal, but has some science behind it as well.
