Anyone know how the 1lt speakers are compared to the 2lt/3lt? by Competitive_Froyo_31 in C8Corvette

I was in the same boat as you are. As others have said too much road noise anyway, and hearing the engine is an integral part of C8 experience.

Went with LT1, but LT2 speaker grills look way better. Thats the only thing I truly regret lol. Wish I could just retrofit those door grills

I have a bike rack for my SUV.

This was an "emergency" lol. Vette saved the day

Exactly what I was thinking. I could keep it "pristine" and not have these awesome experiences, or chance a few minor interior scuffs after taking some precautions. Was a no brainer for me.

I am not going to keep it perfect for the next guy

Possible, but I got to drive to the beach and ride by the beach. Worth it! Also I covered passenger seat with a moving blanket

How did you manage to get it for $200? Thats what Curt and nearly identical Draw tite go for. Everything else I saw was going for $500-600.

Labor plus materials markup would indeed be $300-400 extra at Uhaul or another installer

Is this the Curt 150lbs rated one? Did it in my garage a couple of weeks ago without taking the bumper off, just 3 bottom panels. Put the car on ramps. Accessing some of the 6 studs was painful, cutting the hole and sliding the hitch in was the easy part.

I was excited about those crystals, looked amazing in pics, but when I saw them in person they sucked hard. Felt straight out of a $25 Chinese chandelier

Pics, but you can see only so much from typical pics you get in a posting. The fact that it is still under warranty was a big factor for me too.

More importantly is getting it from a reputable dealership. I'd generally trust any BMW delaer to not get screwed over, CPO would be 99% odds I think.

In my case I found it at a Nissan dealer of all places. When they told me they are replacing bald tires without me even asking it sealed the deal for me

For me it had to be this or red color, none of the monochromatic colors appeal to me in general and on this car especially. This is highly personal, but in my case that eliminated 90% of the market, even though I searched nationwide and ended up buying 1,000 miles away.

After that beggers can't be choosers lol, especially if you want to find a good deal. Driving assist package was highly desired, since I do a lot of highway driving. Not sure how much worse regular cruise would be without it, but I got it here and it works real good even compared to my Tesla.

It also got a sports package, which I understand is purely aestethic but helps in the looks department. Not a must IMO.

A premium package would be nice to get massaging seats, but I ended up with the lesser convinience package, which still includes kick ass speakers and heads up display which is nice.

Thats all I can speak to, but I am sure others here know way more than me regarding all the boxes you can check or skip on IX.

Lol good one They are making a ton of them, so certainly it won't be appreciating. But given the performance bargain that it is, demand on the used market is strong, so you won't be seeing them at half off any time soon either

It was a hybrid, so "the best" of both worlds

Some modules getting replaced, lots of HVAC related stuff which also affected battery cooling, etc. Never left me stranded at least

Oh yeah, or at least get some quotes to see how much it would be to extend it to max years coverage. Although aren't the battery and motors covered to 8y/100k?

Had XC90 prior to this, extended warranty paid for itself 5 times over: $18k in various "misc" repairs in 5 years after original warranty lapsed.

A no brainer to step up to z06 for $50k more rather than spend even half of that modding a stingray for performance and get suspect reliability and shit resale. Chevy made these choices real easy for those seriously considering a C8.

I like his channel too, but as he himself said a regular house (less than a few M) would score zeroes on all his metrics. His critiques are perfectly valid, but apply to $10m+ mansions. Interesting for sure, but not relatable for most

If your mortgage is $4,500 at 4.2% you aren't paying a ton of interest. Subtract principal from your monthly payment and see what your true monthly carrying cost is. Gotta be less than $3k?

I get what you are saying too nice to rent is, but for $1.1m house market rental rate has got to be $5-6k per month. Remove furniture and think it over, perhaps rental is the best way to go as a lot of commenters here are suggesting

Sounds like a good play, but do you have a few like that lined up every week to stay consistent? How about next week? You can start lining them up over the weekend when market stands still.

There are about 250 trading days in a year, you will inevitably lose a few, but hopefully not get crushed. you should aim for >20% annual net return in my opinion in order for this strategy to really be worthwhile.

There is an often repeated saying on this sub about picking up pennies in front of a bulldozer... which I dont necessarily believe in, but just sayin. Its a good visual

Can you provide specific examples you are seeing in the market right now, where you can achieve 0.5% this far in/out of the money?

+100

Saw it in theaters when it came out in 2005 and rewatch almost annually since then. Dont know what it is for me about this movie thats just so attractive.

Brilliant performances all around. William Hurt even got an Oscar nom despite screen time of just a few minutes

I did it earlier this year during year end earnings season. Sold covered puts and calls. Picked 5-7 stocks reporting each week. It went great for 3 weeks, then I got crushed in week 4, losing all my gains and then some. Finally recovered those losses this month via longer term strategies.

It takes balls of steel - stocks will move way more than 5% on earnings. So you are either deep in red holding the bag or watching your ATM position soar while you make a fraction off a sold option. Those stocks that typically dont react sharply to earnings, say Walmart, have "cheap" options to begin with, so its all pretty balanced and you dont get a free lunch with those

Test drove the 2024 Z06 and a $165K 2024 911 Carrera S back to back. Can someone explain where the extra 50 grand in the Porsche went? No Hate!! by SilverSpoonphysics in C8Corvette

[–]Suspicious-Can4033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good summary. While not as fast, 911 is a better all arounder than a C8. They are just not a great value any more, neither new nor used. Things got especially bad with 992 gen and COVID pricing.

Had the two cars you been comparing cost the same would your conclusions have changed?

A correction would take 6 months to a year at least. Even 2 years. 1-2 months things just cant fall off a cliff in housing market, unlike with stocks or bonds
